Scott County (16-3) vs. Lafayette (15-5) February 4, 2000
Scott County coach Billy Hicks started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Scott Hundley, 6-0 Sr. Ken Chisley, 6-8 Jr. Nate Austin, 6-3 So. Coy Zerhusen, and 5-11 Sr. Casey Alsop. Lafayette coach Don Adkins countered with 6-2 Jr. Robert Madison, 6-7 Jr. Vernard Hazard, 6-2 Sr. J.D. Dixon, 5-11 Jr. Quinton Roberts, and 6-1 Jr. Nick Everman.
Both teams were playing a little short-handed for tonight's game.
Scott County was missing 5-10 So guard C-3 Brown. Lafayette
was missing 6-4 Sr. Rod Napier and 5-9 Jr. James Gentry.
Scott County suffered another blow late in the first half. They were
leading 23-18 when Scott Hundley went down with an ankle injury.
Lafayette outscored Scott County 7-1 the rest of the quarter to take a
25-24 halftime lead. Lafayette led most of the second half and won
by a score of 60-50. Robert Madison led Lafayette with 25
points and 6 rebounds. J.D. Dixon added 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Vernard Hazard only scored 2 points but he played an excellent defensive
game and made some excellent passes from the post position.
Casey Alsop
led the Scott County with 30 points.
