Bryan Station (10-3) vs. Henry Clay (11-4) January 7, 2000
Coach Kirk Chiles' Henry Clay Blue Devils finally play their first home game of the season tonight. Henry Clay has already matched their wins total for last season. They have managed this without Shane Boyd, who has been out with an injury. Coach Bobby Washington's Bryan Station Defenders are probably one of the most improved teams in the state.
Coach Washington started the following lineup: 6-6 Jr. Terren Harbut, 6-0 Sr. Damond Washburn, 6-1 Sr. Donte Tichenor, 5-8 Sr. Eddie Smith, and 5-10 Sr. D.J. Moberly. Coach Chiles countered with 6-5 So. Clay List, 6-0 Sr. J.C. Mitchell, 6-2 Jr. Rod Dunham, 6-2 Sr. Daryl Carden, and 5-10 Sr. Rod Cotton.
Clay List hit a short jump shot with eight seconds on the clock
to give Henry Clay a 46-44 win. Bryan Station actually had a chance
to tie but the shot wouldn't fall. A successful follow up by Harbut
was ruled too late and the jubilant Henry Clay players celebrated another
big win. Bryan Station's D.J. Moberly had tied the score 44-44
with 19 seconds remaining to set the stage for List's heroics.
List led Henry Clay with 23 points and D.J. Moberly
paced Bryan Station with 20. Terren Harbut got in early foul
trouble and was held to 2 points.
