West Jessamine (14-15) vs. Lexington Catholic (25-4)
Lexington Catholic will be playing for revenge tonight as well as a district title. West Jessamine upset the Knights 88-87 in late January. Travis Spann led West Jessamine in the victory with 36 points.
West Jessamine coach Tim Peterson started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Corey Bullock, 6-1 Sr. Yancy Marcum, 6-1 Jr. Travis Spann, 6-1 Fr. Cameron Jackson, and 6-3 Fr. Scott Tarvin. Lexington Catholic coach Danny Haney countered with 6-5 Sr. Will Harris, 6-2 Sr. Kip Wellman, 6-4 Sr. Matt Heissenbuttel, 5-11 Sr. David Hewitt, and 6-3 Sr. Ben Wilson.
Lexington Catholic took no chances tonight as their defensive pressure
allowed them to take a 14-0 lead and the game was basically over.
Catholic led at all quarter stops: 30-12, 58-31, 79-52, and 97-70.
Catholic was led by Will Harris with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Kip Wellman added 17 points and Matt Heissenbuttel chipped
in with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Ben Wilson tallied 15 points.
West Jessamine was led by Scott Tarvin with 14 points. Cameron
Jackson and
Yancy Marcum each added 13 points.
