Ryle coach Katie Haitz started the following lineup: 5-11 So. Maddie Scherr, 5-9 Fr. Brie Crittendon, 5-11 Jr. Lauren Schwartz, 5-7 Jr. Juliet McGregor, and 5-7 So. Jaiden Douthit.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 5-10 Jr. Maaliya Owens, 5-10 Sr. Peyton Riddle, 5-10 Sr. Zakiyia Holt, 5-5 Jr. Juliette Smith, and 5-5 So. Morgan DeFoor.

 

Ryle led 33-23 in the second quarter but Scott County rallied to win 70-69 on a late free throw by Juliette Smith.  There were seven ties and 13 lead changes in the game.  Scott County shot 37.7% from the field including seven of 21 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 17 of 27 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 17 Ryle turnovers.  Ryle shot 37.5% from the field including six of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Raiders connected on 15 of 23 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 13 Scott County turnovers.

 

Maaliya Owens led Scott County with 18 points including two three point baskets, eight rebounds, four assists, two blocked shots, and two steals.  Peyton Riddle added 17 points including two three point baskets.  Morgan DeFoor recorded 12 points, four rebounds, and five assists. 

 

Maddie Scherr led Ryle with 24 points including three three point baskets, 12 rebounds, and six assists.  Lauren Schwartz added 17 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, and five blocked shots.  Brie Crittendon recorded 13 points, five rebounds, and two blocked shots.

Lafayette outscored Woodford County 26-15 in the second quarter on their way to an 84-71 victory.  The score was tied seven times and there were four lead changes in the game.  Lafayette shot 63.3% from the field including eight of 12 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on 14 of 23 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 19 Oldham County turnovers.  Oldham County shot 53.7% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on nine of 18 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 17 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Cameron King led Lafayette with 21 points including six three point baskets.  Eric Powell added 20 points including two three point baskets.  6-2 Jr. TeAndre Newcomb recorded 13 points and four assists.  Ray Suratt chipped in with 12 points.  6-1 Sr. Devontae Hayes pulled down eight rebounds.

 

Travis Henderson led Oldham County with 13 points and four rebounds.  Jackson Gibson added 13 points and eight assists.  6-4 Jr. Christian Harper added 12 points and five rebounds.  Zach Larimore recorded 11 points, 11 rebounds, and three steals.  6-1 Jr. Matthew Teague chipped in with 10 points.

LaRue County raced out to a 22-13 first quarter lead on their way to a 56-43 victory over Wayne County.  LaRue County shot 47.5% from the field including four of seven from the three point line.  The Hawks connected on 14 of 19 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 11 Wayne County turnovers.  Wayne County shot 33.3% from the field including three of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on 10 of 13 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 11 LaRue County turnovers.

 

Noah Davis led LaRue County with 16 points including two three point baskets.  Shane King added 15 points including two three point baskets and seven rebounds.  Mark Goode recorded 12 points including six of six free throws.  Anthony Adkins chipped in with six points, nine rebounds, and four assists.

 

Jakson Baker led Wayne County with 12 points and seven rebounds.  Thomas Spencer added 11 points and four rebounds.  Aubrey Weaver recorded 11 points and four rebounds.

Cooper Robb led Scott County with 17 points including three three point baskets.  Glenn Covington added 16 points including four three point baskets and three steals.  5-8 Jr. Cam Fluker recorded 11 points.  Diablo Stewart chipped in with 10 points and five assists.  Michael Moreno recorded six points, 15 rebounds, five assists, two blocked shots, and two steals.

 

Brandon Cromwell led Woodford County with 13 points, five rebounds, and three assists.  Anthony Tabor added 11 points including two three point baskets.  Nicholas Smith recorded seven points and four rebounds.

Scott County pulled away in the third quarter on their way to an 80-61 victory over Perry County Central.  Scott County shot 45.1% from the field including 12 of 30 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on four of 11 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 18 Perry County Central turnovers.  Perry County Central shot 39.7% from the field including nine of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Commodores connected on six of 14 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored eight points off 13 Scott County turnovers.

 

Peyton Riddle led Scott County with 26 points including six three point baskets in only 22 minutes of playing time.  Maaliya Owens added 16 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, six assists, and four steals.  6-2 So. Malea Williams recorded six points, five rebounds, and five blocked shots.

 

Sydni Hall led Perry County Central with 26 points including six three point baskets.  Lindsey Profitt added 20 points and six rebounds.  Cassie Fields recorded seven points and eight rebounds.

Maddie Scherr led Ryle with 18 points, nine rebounds, five assists, two blocked shots, and two steals.  Lauren Schwartz added 17 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, and four steals.  Brie Crittendon recorded 10 points.

Brie Crittendon led Ryle with 19 points including two three point baskets.  Lauren Schwartz added 17 points including two three point baskets and six steals.  Maddie Scherr recorded 15 points, eight rebounds, 11 assists, two blocked shots, and four steals.  Jaiden Douthit chipped in with 14 points including three three point baskets.

Scott County defeated Simon Kenton 81-79 in overtime.  5-1 Fr. Braylee McMath hit a three point basket in the closing seconds to give Scott County the lead and 6-2 So. Malea Williams ensured the victory with a blocked shot at the buzzer.  There were 14 lead changes and nine ties in this game.  Simon Kenton led 66-57 in the final quarter but Scott County rallied for the victory.

 

Scott County shot 39.7% from the field including 10 of 35 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 17 of 22 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 11 Simon Kenton turnovers.  Simon Kenton shot 43.6% from the field including nine of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Pioneers connected on 22 of 27 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 11 Scott County turnovers.

Travis Henderson led Oldham County with 20 points including two three point baskets and eight rebounds.  Zach Larimore added 15 points, six rebounds, and two steals.  Andre Brewer recorded nine points, three assists, and two steals.

 

Aubrey Weaver led Wayne County with 19 points including eight of 12 free throws and six rebounds.  Jakson Baker added 12 points and six rebounds.  Kameron Gehring recorded eight points.

LaRue County coach Paul Childress started the following lineup: 6-4 Jr. Anthony Adkins, 6-1 Sr. Shane King, 6-6 So. Mark Goode, 5-10 Sr. Kendrik Weathers, and 5-11 Jr. Noah Davis.  Scott County coach Billy Hicks countered with 6-2 Sr. Cooper Robb, 6-1 Jr. Bryce Long, 6-7 Jr. Michael Moreno, 5-9 Jr. Diablo Stewart, and 6-1 Sr. Josh Davis.

 

Scott County raced out to a 25-11 first quarter lead on their way to a 91-53 victory over LaRue County.  Scott County shot 50.8% from the field including 16 of 33 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 11 of 16 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 33 points off 23 LaRue County turnovers.  LaRue County shot 31% from the field including two of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Hawks connected on 25 of 32 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored four points off eight Scott County turnovers.

 

Diablo Stewart led Scott County with 23 points including five three point baskets, four rebounds, and seven assists.  Stewart was six of nine from the field including five of seven from beyond the arc, and six of six free throws.  6-1 Jr. Lorenzo Williams added 14 points.  Bryce Long recorded 13 points including two three point baskets.  Cooper Robb chipped in with 12 points including two three point baskets.  Michael Moreno added 10 points, four rebounds, three assists, three blocked shots, and five steals.

 

Anthony Adkins led LaRue County with 22 points including 13 of 16 free throws and four rebounds.  Mark Goode added 17 points and seven rebounds.

Congratulations to the Scott County boys for capturing the crown and for the Scott County girls winning the girls’ round robin competition.  The inclement weather made scheduling a nightmare this season but the organizers persevered juggling the schedule and adding teams when necessary to get the tournament completed.
