Tates Creek vs. Lexington Christian Academy (Girls)

Tates Creek coach Matthew Yates started the following lineup: 5-8 So. Yasmeen Shalash, 5-7 So. Lateya Wilson, 5-10 Sr. Shylah Lyvers, 5-2 Jr. Kiara Jackson, and 5-5 Sr. Tamira Watts.  Lexington Christian Academy coach Michael Menifee countered with 5-8 Jr. Grace Combs, 5-6 So. MacKenzie Buckler, 5-7 Fr. Gracie Royalty, 5-6 So. Jaylin McClanahan, and 5-8 Jr. Bethany Selby.

Lexington Christian Academy defeated Tates Creek by a score of 42-36.  Lexington Christian Academy shot 36.7% from the field including zero of five from the three point line.  The Lady Eagles connected on 20 of 29 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored five points off 12 Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 27.3% from the field including four of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Commodores connected on eight of 16 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 13 LCA turnovers.

Grace Combs led LCA with 18 points including 12 of 17 free throws, and seven rebounds.  Bethany Selby added nine points and Gracie Royalty recorded eight points and four rebounds.

Shylah Lyvers led Tates Creek with 10 points including two three point baskets and eight rebounds.  Tamira Watts also scored 10 points.

Tates Creek coach Jarrod Gay Sr. started the following lineup: 6-4 Jr. Quentyn Jackson, 6-1 So. Marcus Bosley, 6-6 Sr. Grayson Hill,  5-11 Sr. DeMarius Wilson, and 6-2 So. Armani Taylor.  Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Scott Chalk countered with 6-3 Jr. Michael Corio, 6-2 Jr. Jared Gadd, 6-5 Jr. Trevor Rogers, 5-10 Sr. JaQuice Gray, and 6-2 Jr. Michael Allen.

Paul Laurence Dunbar defeated Tates Creek by a score of 50-25.  Dunbar shot 38% from the field including two of 12 from the three point line.  The Bulldogs connected on 10 of 12 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 23 Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 30% from the field including one of nine from beyond the arc.  The Commodores connected on six of 15 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 11 Dunbar turnovers.

JaQuice Gray led Dunbar with 17 points and four rebounds.  5-8 Sr. JaQuon Gray added 13 points and three steals. Jared Gadd recorded 10 points, six rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  6-4 Sr. Tre Homer chipped in with six points and 10 rebounds.

Armani Taylor led Tates Creek with eight points and nine rebounds.  6-5 Jr. Deonte Edmonds added six points and three rebounds.

Lexington Catholic vs. Paul Laurence Dunbar (Girls)

Lexington Catholic coach Scott True started the following lineup: 5-8 Jr. Maylo Given, 5-8 Jr. Jay Ballard, 5-10 Sr. Maya Jazdzewski,5-2 Sr. Olivia Haines, and 5-6 Sr. Ashley Frebis.  Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Nick Runyon countered with 5-8 Jr. Cheyenne Fullwood, 5-8 Sr. Peyton Humphreys, 6-0 Fr. Elise Ellison-Coons, 5-6 Sr. Mashayla Cecil, and 5-7 Sr. Anaiyah Cotton.

Paul Laurence Dunbar led 21-8 after the first quarter on their way to a 72-57 victory over Lexington Catholic.  Dunbar shot 51.1% from the field including five of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on 19 of 23 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 12 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 42% from the field including six of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 10 points off nine Dunbar turnovers.

Elise Ellison-Coons led Dunbar with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Cheyenne Fullwood added 21 points including three three point baskets.  Fullwood was nine of 10 from the field including three of three from beyond the arc.  Mashayla Cecil recorded 14 points and seven assists.  Anaiyah Cotton chipped in with eight points and five assists.

Jay Ballard led Lexington Catholic with 26 points including four three point baskets and four assists.  Maylo Given added 14 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.

Lexington Christian Academy coach Nate Valentine started the following lineup: 6-7 Sr. Carter Hendrickson, 6-7 Jr. Kyle Rode, 6-6 Sr. Austin Hall, 6-2 Jr. Isaiah Hunt, and 6-2 So. Will Hacker.  Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-6 Jr. Brice Scott, 6-3 Sr. TC Price, 6-7 Sr. Max Sparkman, 6-0 Sr. Keegan Bailey, and 6-1 Fr. Ben Johnson. (Note: 6-5 Sr. Zan Payne out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury).

Lexington Christian Academy made a late comeback to defeat Lexington Catholic by a score of 53-52.  Lexington Catholic had a 52-50 lead with eight seconds remaining and the ball.  Lexington Catholic attempted to throw a long pass that was deflected by Kyle Rode and intercepted by Carter Hendrickson who scored on a layup, was fouled and hit the ensuing free throw.  Lexington Catholic got the ball back with 3.4 seconds left on the clock and missed on a late three point attempt.  There were 12 lead changes and seven ties in this game.

Lexington Christian Academy shot 53.7% from the field including five of 17 from the three point line.  The Eagles connected on four of seven free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 10 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 45.2% from the field including 11 of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Knights connected on three of five free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 11 points off eight LCA turnovers.

Carter Hendrickson led LCA with 16 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Kyle Rode added 15 points, five rebounds, and eight assists.  Austin Hall recorded 10 points, five rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots, and two steals.

Ben Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 25 points including seven three point baskets, four rebounds, and two assists.  TC Price added 13 points.  Keegan Bailey recorded 10 points including three three point baskets.  Max Sparkman chipped in with four points, five rebounds, six assists, and one blocked shot.

Lafayette vs. Lexington Christian Academy (Girls)

Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Lindi DeBilzan, 5-8 Sr. Caroline Bennett, 5-10 Sr. Tekiya Garr-Carter, 5-7 Sr. Terri Abram, and 5-8 Fr. Rylie Grantz.  Lexington Christian Academy coach Michael Menifee countered with 5-8 Jr. Grace Combs, 5-6 So. MacKenzie Buckler, 5-7 Fr. Gracie Royalty, 5-6 So. Jaylin McClanahan, and 5-8 Jr. Bethany Selby.

Lafayette led 31-24 at halftime and pulled away in the second half to defeat Lexington Christian Academy 68-32.  There were four lead changes and three ties in the first half.  Lafayette shot 46.2% from the field including 11 of 27 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on nine of 12 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 32 points off 25 LCA turnovers.  LCA shot 21.2% from the field including two of seven from beyond the arc and only connected on one field goal on 11 attempts in the second half.  The Lady Eagles connected on 16 of 20 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored five points off 14 Lafayette turnovers.

Caroline Bennett led Lafayette with 35 points including nine three point baskets, eight rebounds, three assists, three blocked shots, and five steals.  Lindi DeBilzan added 14 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots, and five steals.  Tekiya Garr-Carter recorded eight points and eight rebounds.  Terri Abram dished out seven assists.

Bethany Selby led LCA with 13 points and five rebounds.  Grace Combs added eight points.

Ray Suratt, 5-10 Jr. Evan Dreux, and 5-11 Sr. Fousseyni Diallo.

Paul Laurence Dunbar led 25-11 in the second quarter but Lafayette rallied to grind out a 47-40 victory over the Bulldogs.  The third quarter was the downfall for Dunbar as they were outscored 17-4 during that period.  Lafayette shot 40% from the field including three of 17 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 10 Dunbar turnovers.  Dunbar shot 32% from the field including three of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Bulldogs connected on five of 14 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 16 Lafayette turnovers.

Cameron King led Lafayette with 13 points, three rebounds, and three steals.  6-2 Sr. Devontae Hayes added 11 points and six rebounds.  Ray Suratt recorded nine points, eight rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Evan Dreux chipped in with six points, 10 rebounds, and five assists.

JaQuice Gray led Dunbar with 11 points, six rebounds, five assists, two blocked shots, and two steals.  Isaiah Allen added eight points and two steals.  6-4 Sr. Tre Homer recorded seven points, five rebounds, two blocked shots, and two steals.  Michael Corio also scored seven points.  Jared Gadd pulled down eight rebounds.

Elise Ellison-Coons, 5-6 Sr. Mashayla Cecil, and 5-7 Sr. Anaiyah Cotton.  Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 5-10 Jr. Lindi DeBilzan, 5-8 Sr. Caroline Bennett, 5-10 Sr. Tekiya Garr-Carter, 5-7 Sr. Terri Abram, and 5-8 Fr. Rylie Grantz. 

Paul Laurence Dunbar utilized the offensive firepower of Mashayla Cecil (26 points) and an effective box-and-chaser defense on Caroline Bennett to hold the sharpshooter to five points on their way to a 65-56 victory.  There were two lead changes and six ties in this game.  Dunbar shot 39.6% from the field including two of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on 25 of 31 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 15 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 40.4% from the field including one of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Generals connected on 17 of 29 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 13 Dunbar turnovers.

Mashayla Cecil led Dunbar with 26 points including 11 of 11 free throws, six rebounds, and two steals.  Elise Ellison-Coons added 15 points and 10 rebounds.  Peyton Humphreys recorded 10 points and four assists.  Mashayla Cecil was named tournament MVP.

Terri Abram led Lafayette with 18 points and three assists.  Lindi DeBilzan added 16 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.  Tekiya Garr-Carter recorded 10 points and eight rebounds.

Lexington Christian Academy raced out to a 19-6 first quarter lead on their way to a 72-46 victory over Lafayette.  LCA shot 43.9% from the field including six of 19 from the three point line.  The Eagles connected on 16 of 19 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 35.6% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on 10 of 19 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored seven points off six LCA turnovers.

Kyle Rode led LCA with 33 points including four three point baskets, 11 of 13 free throws, six rebounds, and nine assists.  Carter Hendrickson added 20 points and seven rebounds.  Austin Hall recorded 13 points, seven rebounds, and seven blocked shots.  Kyle Rode was named Tournament MVP.

Devontae Hayes led Lafayette with 13 points and eight rebounds.  Eric Powell added 11 points.  Cameron King recorded 10 points including three three point baskets.
