Indiana coach Curt Benge started the following lineup: 6-1 Chyna Anthony, 5-8 Karissa McLaughlin, 6-1 Madison Wise, 5-6 Dana Evans, and 5-6 Destiny Perkins.  Kentucky coach Larry Just countered with 5-10 Rebecca Cook, 5-10 Jaelynn Penn, 6-2 Mackenzie Coleman, 5-8 Tasia Jeffries, and 5-9 Princess Stewart.

 

Indiana defeated Kentucky 58-51 in a game which neither team could find the range from the field.  The game was died six times and there were seven lead changes in the game.  Indiana shot 31.9% from the field including seven of 26 from the three point line.  They connected on seven of 11 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 20 Kentucky turnovers.  Kentucky shot 30.8% from the field including four of 23 from beyond the arc.  They connected on seven of 11 free throws, pulled down 48 rebounds, and scored eight points off 18 Indiana turnovers.  Kentucky Miss Basketball Lindsey Duvall was unable to play in this series as she was recovering from an injury.

 

Rachel McLimore led Indiana in scoring with 14 points in a little more than 18 minutes of playing time.  Dana Evans added eight points, four rebounds, six assists, and five steals.  Macee Williams pulled down 10 rebounds.

 

Jaelynn Penn led Kentucky with nine points and 11 rebounds although she was hampered in the first half with foul difficulties.  Kaylee Clifford also scored nine points and pulled down five rebounds.

Indiana coach Marty Beasley started the following lineup: 6-7 Kris Wilkes, 6-4 Sasha Stefanovic, 6-6 Grant Smith, 6-2 Mack Smith, and 6-2 Michael Ertel.  Kentucky coach Rodney Woods countered with 6-6 Terry Taylor, 6-1 Jake Ohmer, 6-8 DeAndre Bradshaw, 6-3, Taveion Hollingsworth, and 6-3 Sean McNeil. 

 

Kentucky broke a 17 game losing streak with a 111-110 double overtime victory but it was not easy.  Kentucky led 82-66 with eight minutes left in regulation but Indians rallied to tie the game and force overtime.  Kentucky finally won the game in the second overtime aided by a late Indians technical for disputing an out-of-bound call that awarded the ball to Kentucky.  The score was tied 19 times and there were 13 lead changes in the game.  Indiana had several players that were not available for this game.  Kentucky shot 37.9% from the field including 14 of 40 from the three point line.  They connected on 25 of 34 free throws, pulled down 64 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 11 Indiana turnovers.  Indiana shot 39.6% from the field including 10 of 34 from beyond the arc.  They connected on 28 of 38 free throws, pulled down 61 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 15 Kentucky turnovers.

 

Jake Ohmer had the moniker “The Jake” hung on him as a result of his sterling performance in the state tournament his season and was at it again tonight as he recorded 30 points, four rebounds, and four steals.  Terry Taylor added 22 points including five three point baskets, 19 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  DeAndre “Pedro” Bradshaw recorded 16 points, 15 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Peyton Broughton also reached double digits with 10 points.  Taveion Hollingsworth chipped in with eight points, four rebounds, and five assists.

 

Kris Wilkes led Indiana with 28 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Mack Smith added 23 points including three three point baskets, 10 of 11 free throws, and seven rebounds.  Grant Smith recorded 17 points, nine rebounds, four assists, four blocked shots, and three steals.  Sasha Stefanovic chipped in with 15 points including three three point baskets.  Jalen Adaway recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
