Lafayette Central Catholic vs. Tindley Class A (Championship)

 

Lafayette Central Catholic coach David Barrett started the following lineup; 6-3 Fr. Carson Barrett, 6-2 Sr. Ben Tharp, 6-3 Sr. Avery Denhart, 6-0 Sr. Thomas Gothard, and 6-0 Sr. Jacob Page.  Tindley coach Bob Wonnell countered with 6-3 Jr. Hunter White, 6-3 Jr. Eric Hunter, 6-3 Sr. Chris Murtt, 5-7 Jr. Joe Johnson, and 5-10 Jr. KC Coleman.

 

Hunter White scored on a driving layup in the closing seconds to give Tindley a 51-49 victory and the championship over Lafayette Central Catholic.  The Score was tied four times and there were five lead changes in this game.  Tindley shot 40.8% from the field including four of 11 from the three point line.  The Tigers connected on seven of 13 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored seven points off 13 Lafayette Central Catholic turnovers.  Lafayette Central Catholic shot 43.9% from the field including two of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Knights connected on 11 of 16 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored six points off eight Tindley turnovers.

 

Chris Murtt led Tindley with 13 points and five rebounds.  6-0 Fr. Spencer McMahon added 10 points including two three point baskets and three steals.  Eric Hunter recorded eight points, nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Joe Johnson chipped in with seven points, seven rebounds, and three assists. 

 

Avery Denhart led Lafayette Central Catholic with 17 points including four of five free throws.  Carson Barrett added 11 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Ben Tharp recorded nine points.  Jacob Page added seen points, eight rebounds, and four assists.

Frankton vs. Crawford County Class 2A (Championship)

 

Frankton coach Brent Brobston started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Maurice Knight, 6-2 Jr. Landon Weins, 6-7 So. Rylan Detling, 6-1 So. Kayden Key, and 6-1 Jr. Travis McGuire.  Crawford County coach Levi Carmichael countered with 6-4 Jr. Matt Dearborn, 6-3 Sr. Adam Beasley, 6-4 Sr. Josh Thomas, 6-1 Sr. Tyrell Nickelson, and 6-3 Sr. Brent Smith.

 

Frankton’s defense recorded 19 steals, four blocked shots, and forced 25 Crawford County turnovers which they converted to 36 points in a 60-32 victory to earn the championship.  Frankton shot 47.6% from the field including three of 12 from the three point line.  The Eagles connected on 17 of 21 free throws, pulled down 22 points and enjoyed a 16-2 advantage in bench scoring.  Crawford County shot 27.3% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Wolfpack connected on 10 of 12 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored three points off 11 Frankton turnovers.

 

Maurice Knight led Frankton with 23 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, two blocked shots, and four steals.  Kayden Key added eight points and three assists.  Landon Weins recorded six points and five steals.  6-1 Sr. Patrick Spillman chipped in with six points, three rebounds, four assists, and four steals.

 

Tyrell Nickelson led Crawford County with 14 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and three steals.  Adam Beasley added six points, six rebounds, and two steals.  Brent Smith also scored six points and pulled down three rebounds.

Twin Lakes vs. Indianapolis Crispus Attucks Class 3A (Championship)

 

Twin Lakes coach Kent Adams started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Bryce Bennington, 6-1 Sr. Kris Goodlow, 6-3 Sr. Blake Bennington, 5-11 Sr. Justin Crabb, and 5-11 Sr. Matt Conrad.  Indianapolis Crispus Attucks coach Christopher Hawkins countered with 6-4 Jr. Derrick Briscoe, 6-2 Jr. Jamal Harris, 6-4 Sr. Nike Sibande, 5-10 Sr. Alex Cooley, and 6-1 Sr. Teyon Scanlan.

 

Jamal Harris scored on a put back basket with 0.9 seconds remaining on the clock to complete a comeback from a nine point deficit late in the third quarter to give Indianapolis Crispus Attucks a 73-71 victory over Twin Lakes.  The score was tied seven times and there were nine lead changes in the game.  Indianapolis Crispus Attucks shot 54.2% from the field including 11 of 18 from the three point line.  The Tigers connected on 10 of 14 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 12 Twin Lakes turnovers.  Twin Lakes shot 52% from the field including seven of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on 12 of 19 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 11 Indianapolis Crispus Attucks turnovers.

 

Teyon Scanlan led Indianapolis Crispus Attucks with 24 points including four three point baskets.  Mike Sibande added 23 points including four three point baskets, five of five free throws, eight rebounds, and two steals.  Alex Cooley recorded 11 points including three three point baskets and four steals.

 

Bryce Bennington led Twin Lakes with 32 points including four three point baskets.  Kris Goodlow added 12 points and seven rebounds.  Blake Bennington recorded 10 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.

Fort Wayne North Side coach Shabaz Khaliq started the following lineup: 6-8 So. Keion Brooks Jr., 6-2 Jr. Brandan Johnson, 6-10 Sr. Jaylen Butz, 5-9 Sr. Elijah Holmes, and 6-2 Sr. Juan Quarles.  Ben Davis coach Mark James countered with 6-6 Jr. Aaron Henry, 6-4 Sr. Josh Brewer, 6-6 Sr. Kyle Finch, 6-0 Sr. Datrion Harper, and 6-2 Sr. Jalen Newsom.

 

Fort Wayne North Side missed a three point basket attempt at the buzzer and Ben Davis held on for a 55-52 victory.  The score was tied four times and there were six lead changes in the game.  Ben Davis shot 40.8% from the field including six of 15 from the three point line.  The Giants connected on nine of 18 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 10 Fort Wayne North Side turnovers.  Fort Wayne North Side shot 46.5% from the field including five of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Legends connected on seven of 20 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored two points off four Ben Davis turnovers. 

 

6-3 So. Jalen Windham led Ben Davis with 15 points including three three point baskets.  Datrion Harper added 14 points and two blocked shots.  Aaron Henry recorded 12 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shots.  Josh Brewer added nine points and eight rebounds.

 

Jaylen Butz led Fort Wayne North Side with 11 points, 12 rebounds, and two steals.  Juan Quarles also scored 11 points and pulled down four rebounds.  5-9 Sr. Devontae Kinnie added 10 points, four rebounds, and four assists.  Brandan Johnson chipped in with nine points and eight rebounds.  Keion Brooks Jr. added eight points, four rebounds, and three assists.
