Boyle County vs. Boone County

 

Boyle County coach Greg Edwards started the following lineup: 6-0 Jr. Gracie Edmiston, 5-8 So. McKayla Baker, 6-1 Jr. Becca Tarter, 5-7 Jr. Danielle Roney, and 5-11 Sr. Emmie Harris.  Boone County coach Ray Kues countered with 5-7 Jr. Tessa Gieske, 5-7 Sr. Zyah Beal, 5-8 Sr. Kiley Anderson, 5-4 Sr. Jaelyn Bonner, and 5-7 Jr. Maleah Hirn.

 

Boyle County eked out a 71-69 victory over Boone County.  Boone County led 37-23 at halftime but Boyle County rallied for the victory.  The score was tied nine times and there were four lead changes in the game.  Boyle County shot 47.9% from the field including two of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Rebels connected on 23 of 35 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 18 Boone County turnovers.  Boone County shot 43.8% from the field including two of four from beyond the arc.  The Lady Rebels connected on 25 of 34 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 23 Boyle County turnovers.

 

Emmie Harris led Boyle County with 22 points including 10 of 13 free throws and nine assists.  McKayla Baker added 14 points and four rebounds.  Danielle Roney recorded 11 points and 18 rebounds.  Gracie Edmiston chipped in with nine points, fie rebounds, and six steals.

 

Kiley Anderson led Boone County with 22 points including 12 of 14 free throws and seven rebounds.  Maleah Hirn added 17 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals.  Zyah Beal recorded 12 points, six rebounds, and six steals.  Tessa Gieske also reached double figures with 10 points.
