February 22nd

 

Bryan Station vs. Scott County (Girls)

 

Bryan Station coach Shawn Ransom started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Zariah Kavanaugh, 5-5 Jr. Carah Burdette, 5-7 Sr. Kiauri Shannon, 5-4 Sr. Ezhaunaai Ighodaro, and 5-5 Jr. J’Lyn Martin.  BScott County coach Steve Helton countered with 6-0 Jr. Lauren Boehm, 5-10 So. Peyton Riddle, 6-0 So. Sydney Southerland, 5-5 Fr. Juliette Smith, and 5-9 Sr. Bailey Hawkins.

 

Bryan Station outscored Scott County 28-18 in the third quarter on their way to a 79-74 upset victory over Scott County.  Bryan Station shot 39.2% from the field including six of 26 from the three point line.  The Lady Defenders connected on 15 of 20 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 17 Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 42.9% from the field including one of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 25 of 40 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 13 Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station was whistled for 28 fouls with Asjah Hall, Zariah Kavanaugh, Carah Burdette, and Ezhaunaai Ighodaro all fouled out of the game while Juliette Smith fouled out for Scott County.

 

J’Lyn Martin led Bryan Station with 22 points including four three point baskets and seven rebounds.  5-6 Sr. Destiny Cozart added 18 points and four steals.  Ezhaunaai Ighodaro recorded 17 points, 11 rebounds, and three steals.  Carah Burdette chipped in with 11 points.

 

Peyton Riddle led Scott County with 25 points and five rebounds.  Lauren Boehm added 16 points and 25 reboundsJuliette Smith chipped in with 10 points.

Sayre coach Robert Goodman started the following lineup: 6-3 Jr. Jake Duby, 6-0 So. Marcus Bowie, 6-2 Sr. Jack Henderson, 5-7 So. Jayden Blanton, and 5-11 Jr. Robbie Goodman.  Scott County coach Billy Hicks countered with 6-6 Fr. Michael Moreno, 6-1 So. Cooper Robb, 6-4 Jr. Cooper Watts, 6-1 Fr. Bryce Long, and 6-1 Fr. Glenn Covington.

 

Scott County defeated Sayre by a score of 85-49.  Scott County shot 47.8% from the field including nine of 22 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 20 Sayre turnovers.  Sayre shot 34% from the field including three of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Spartans connected on 14 of 20 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 11 points on 14 Scott County turnovers.

 

Michael Moreno led Scott County with 10 points and 13 rebounds.  Bryce Long, Cooper Robb, and 5-8 Fr. Cam Fluker added nine points each.  Cooper Watts recorded seven points and eight rebounds.

 

Jake Duby led Sayre with 21 points including three three point baskets.  Marcus Bowie added seven points.

Sayre vs. Henry Clay (Girls)

 

Sayre coach Scotty Sutton started the following lineup: 5-10 So. Isabel Pergande, 5-7 Jr. Sydney Strup, 6-0 So. Lainey Tew, 5-1 Sr. Hannah Brady, and 5-5 So. Dee Dee Wheeler.  Henry Clay coach Eric Sanford countered with 5-8 So. Braxton Price, 5-8 Jr. Lexi Long, 5-9 Sr. Jordyn Jackson, 5-6 Sr. T’Laya Lyvers, and 5-7 Fr. Kiya Thompson.

 

Henry Clay scored 32 points off 32 Sayre turnovers in a 49-30 victory.  Henry Clay shot 30.5% from the field including one of 14 from the three point line.  The Lady Blue Devils connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and held a 22-2 advantage in bench points.  Sayre shot 52.2% from the field including one of two from beyond the arc.  Sayre attempted 36 less shots (59-23) from the field than Henry Clay.  The Lady Spartans connected on five of six free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored six points off 13 Henry Clay turnovers.

 

T’Laya Lyvers led Henry Clay with 11 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  5-9 So. Oriona Woods added eight points.  5-10 Sr. Nakeisha Green recorded seven points and nine rebounds.  Braxton Price chipped in with six points and three steals.

 

Dee Dee Wheeler led Sayre with 14 points.  Lainey Tew added eight points and five rebounds.  Sydney Strup recorded four points and seven rebounds.

Henry Clay defeated Bryan Station by a score of 73-61.  Henry Clay shot 44.4% from the field including six of 16 from the three point line.  The Blue Devils connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 53 rebounds, and scored 13 points off eight Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 39.3% from the field including seven of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Defenders connected on six of 12 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 16 Henry Clay turnovers.

 

Isaiah Tisdale led Henry Clay with 28 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.  Leander Ridgeway added 19 points and seven rebounds.  6-4 Sr. Jordan Jones recorded eight points and 14 rebounds.

 

Tim Dunn led Bryan Station with 17 points.  Andre Davis added 11 points, five rebounds, and four assists.  Deandre Dishman recorded seven points and nine rebounds.

Henry Clay defeated Bryan Station by a score of 79-72.  Henry Clay shot 45.85 from the field including three of 18 from the three point line.  The Lady Blue Devils connected on 22 of 32 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 10 Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 37.7% from the field including nine of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Defenders connected on 17 of 29 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 11 Henry Clay turnovers.

 

T’Laya Lyvers had a “monster” game tonight and led Henry Clay with 34 points including 11 of 16 free throws, 16 rebounds, and three steals.  Kiya Thompson added 16 points.  Braxton Price chipped in with 10 points, four rebounds, and five assists.

 

J’Lyn Martin led Bryan Station with 20 points including six three point baskets.  Ezhaunaai Ighodaro added 18 points including three three point baskets and five rebounds.  5-5 Jr. Carah Burdette chipped in with 13 points.  Destiny Cozart recorded 11 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, and three steals.

Henry Clay defeated Scott County by a score of 85-77.  Isaiah Tisdale and Leander Ridgeway combined for a total of 64 points to lead the Blue Devils to victory.  Henry Clay shot 42.3% from the field including nine of 18 from the three point line.  The Blue Devils connected on 16 of 19 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 15 Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 42.6% from the field including eight of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on 17 of 30 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored eight points off 10 Henry Clay turnovers.

 

Isaiah Tisdale led Henry Clay with 33 points including four three point baskets, six rebounds, and five assists.  Leander Ridgeway added 31 points including five three point baskets, six rebounds, and four assists.  Jordan Houston recorded 12 points, 12 rebounds, and three steals.

 

Michael Moreno led Scott County with 20 points including three three point baskets and 11 rebounds.  Cooper Robb added 19 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.  Bryce Long recorded 16 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  6-5 Sr. Clem Damron chipped in with 12 points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots.
