Waggener vs. Atherton (Girls)

 

Waggener coach Kevin Glenn started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Sariyah Shahid-Jenkins, 5-6 Sr. Stephanie Woolridge, 6-2 Sr. Alexandria Peden, 5-4 Sr. Chelsey Hester, and 5-6 Jr. Davianna Ruff.  Atherton coach Woodrow Murphy countered with 5-8 Sr. Jasmine Lewis, 5-7 Jr. Corrine Haeberlin, 5-8 Sr. Mackenzie Dozer, 5-2 Sr. Summer Wright, and 5-4 Sr. Ruby Allgeier.

 

Waggener defeated Atherton by a score of 70-56 in a game that had four lead changes and five ties.  Waggener shot 38% from the field including three of 15 from the three point line.  The Lady Wildcats connected on 29 of 48 free throws, pulled down 50 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 20 Atherton turnovers.  Atherton shot 27.4% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Rebels connected on 12 of 22 free throws, pulled down 54 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 21 Waggener turnovers.  Atherton attempted 23 more shots (73-50) from the field than Waggener.

 

Alexandria Peden led Waggener with 22 points, 20 rebounds, and six blocked shots.  Peden was six of eight from the field and 10 of 13 from the free throw line.  Davianna Ruff added 20 points.  Stephanie Woolridge recorded 14 points and four steals.  Sariyah Shahid-Jenkins pulled down 12 rebounds.  Chelsey Hester chipped in with eight points and six rebounds.

 

Mackenzie Dozier led Atherton with 24 points including three three point baskets, 13 rebounds, and three steals.  Ruby Allgeier added 12 points.  5-6 Sr. Lydia Biggs chipped in with five points, eight rebounds, and five assists.  5-8 Sr. Laura Mora pulled down nine rebounds.

Seneca vs. Sacred Heart Academy (Girls)

 

Seneca coach Latasha Peterson started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Samuari Jones, 5-8 Jr. Nautica Caldwell, 6-0 Jr. Sarah Parish, 5-2 Fr. Erika Green, and 5-7 Sr. Cherish Gordon.  Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir countered with 5-10 Sr. April Gahafer, 5-7 Sr. Meghan Randal, 5-10 Sr. Addie Meiners, 5-4 Sr. Ashley Johnson, and 5-5 Sr. Meredith Moir.

 

Fourteen Sacred Heart players saw action tonight and eleven entering the scoring column in a 59-19 victory over Seneca.  Sacred Heart shot 47.2% from the field including three of 16 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 30 points off 31 Seneca turnovers.  Seneca shot 22.2% from the field including two of seven from beyond the arc.  The Lady Redhawks connected on one of two free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored seven points off 14 Sacred Heart turnovers.

 

Ashley Johnson led Sacred Heart with 10 points and seven rebounds.  Johnson was five of five from the field.  Grace Berger also scored 10 points.  5-4 Fr. Kiki Samsel and Meredith Moir each recorded eight points.

 

5-11 So. Alexis White and Samuari Jones each scored six points for Seneca.  Cherish Gordon added five points and six rebounds.

Grace Berger, 5-7 Fr. Kia Sivils, 5-10 Jr. Lydia Taylor, 5-4 Sr. Ashley Johnson, and 5-7 Jr. Meghan Colley.

 

Sacred Heart Academy defeated Waggener by a score of 76-52.  Sacred Heart shot 43.4% from the field including four of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Valkyries connected on six of 13 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and their ball hawking defense forced 45 turnovers and recorded 29 steals that they converted to 45 points.  Waggener shot 47.4% from the field including one of two from beyond the arc.  The Lady Wildcats connected on 15 of 23 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 19 Sacred Heart turnovers.  Sacred Heart attempted twice as many shots (76-38) from the field than Waggener.

 

Grace Berger led Sacred Heart with 18 points, six rebounds, and four steals.  5-5 Sr. Meredith Moir added 14 points including two three point baskets.  Ashley Johnson recorded seven points and seven steals.  5-9 Fr. Natalie Fichter chipped in with seven points.

 

Alexandria Peden led Waggener with 20 points including 10 of 15 free throws, 20 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Davianna Ruff added 19 points and four steals.
