Assumption vs. Male

 

Assumption coach Steve Small started the following lineup: 5-8 Jr. Leah Mattingly, 5-8 Sr. Molly Steinmetz, 5-8 Jr. Lauren Monaghan, 5-4 Jr. Cassidy Janes, and 5-7 Sr. Fran Deeley.  Note: 6-6 Jr. Nora Kiesler was unavailable tonight. Male coach Champ Ligon countered with 5-11 Fr. Logan Calvert, 5-7 Jr. Taylor Jackson, 6-1 So. I’Liyah Green, 5-2 Sr. Alex Gainey, and 5-5 Jr. Denise Buckel.

Male pulled away in the second half to defeat Assumption by a score of 52-34.  Male led 18-15 at halftime and outscored Assumption 34-18 in the second half.  Male shot 38.6% from the field including three of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on 15 of 23 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 27 Assumption turnovers.  Assumption shot 27.3% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Rockets connected on 12 of 22 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 19 Male turnovers.

Logan Calvert led Male with 12 points including two three point baskets.  I’Liyah Green added 11 points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Taylor Jackson recorded seven points, four assists, and four steals.

Leah Mattingly led Assumption with 13 points including three three point baskets and six rebounds.  Molly Steinmetz added five points and seven rebounds.

Christian Academy of Louisville coach Don Rice started the following lineup: 5-7 Jr. Brittany Mumford, 5-6 Fr. Summer Conti, 6-0 Sr. McKenzie Campbell, 5-6 Sr. Lindsey Dunn, and 5-6 Fr. Emma Wesley.  DuPont Manual coach Jeff Sparks countered with 6-1 Sr. Tabitha Mitchell, 5-9 Jr. Aricka Prentice, 6-4 So. Krystalline McCune, 5-4 Jr. Teanna Curry, and 5-9 Fr. Tonysha Curry.

Manual trailed 37-35 after three quarters but rallied to defeat CAL by a score of 58-49.  The score was tied five times and there were seven lead changes in the game.  Manual shot 35.4% from the field including two of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Crimsons connected on 22 of 31 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 19 CAL turnovers.  CAL shot 38.1% from the field including three of six from beyond the arc.  The Lady Centurions connected on 14 of 23 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Manual turnovers.

Krystalline McCune led Manual with 14 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three blocked shots.  Teanna Curry added 12 points, four assists, and three steals.  Tabitha Mitchell recorded 11 points.

Lindsey Dunn led CAL with 20 points including two three point baskets.  Brittany Mumford added seven points and seven rebounds.  McKenzie Campbell chipped in with six points and five rebounds.

Taryn Glass.  Eastern coach Josh Leslie countered with 5-8 So. Markeia Porter, 5-8 Sr. Jade Spaulding, 6-0 Sr. Claire Hart, 5-7 So. Shavia Thompson, and 5-9 Sr. Madison Raque.

Eastern defeated Central 70-67 in overtime.  The score was tied 15 times and there were 13 lead changes in this game.  Eastern shot 51.9% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line.  The Lady Eagles connected on 10 of 20 free throws, pulled down 48 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 18 Central turnovers.  Central shot 30.1% from the field including three of 20 from beyond the arc.  The lady Jackets connected on 20 of 28 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 31 Eastern turnovers.  Central attempted 19 more shots (73-54) from the field than Eastern.

Markeia Porter led Eastern with 12 points and 11 rebounds.  Jade Spaulding added 12 points and six assists.  Madison Raque recorded 12 points, six rebounds, and three steals.  5-10 Fr. Natalie Collins chipped in with nine points and eight rebounds.

Brianna Hawkins led Central with 23 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Brenda Hackett added 14 points, eight rebounds, and three steals.  5-7 Fr. Precious Hereford chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.

Mercy Academy outscored Pleasure Ridge Park 20-12 in the third quarter on their way to a 57-44 victory.  Mercy shot 37.7% from the field including three of 19 from the three point line.  The Jaguars connected on 14 of 21 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 22 PRP turnovers.  PRP shot 33.3% from the field including one of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Panthers connected on 17 of 27 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored four points off 13 Mercy turnovers.

Elizabeth Anderson led Mercy with 14 points, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots.  5-8 So. Erin Muthler added 12 points.  Hannah Bewley chipped in with 10 points.  Malerie Martin pulled down seven rebounds.

Carnethia Brown led Pleasure Ridge Park with 17 points.  Rayven Shead added 11 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Paige Murphy recorded nine points and eight rebounds.  Leslie Fries pulled down seven rebounds.

Eastern vs. Ballard

Shavia Thompson, and 5-9 Sr. Madison Raque.  Ballard coach Frank Wright connected with 5-7 Sr. Aundrea Matchen, 5-6 Jr. Alex Martin, 5-10 Sr. Javonna Layfield, 5-3 8th grader Briana Mishler, and 5-4 Sr. Brandi Ray.

Ballard eked out a 55-53 victory over Eastern.  There were five lead changes and eight ties in the game.  Ballard shot 50% from the field including four of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Bruins connected on nine of 18 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored nine points off eight Eastern turnovers.  Eastern shot 35.4% from the field including five of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Eagles connected on 14 of 19 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored six points off nine Ballard turnovers.

Javonna Layfield led Ballard with 17 points, nine rebounds, two blocked shots, and four steals.  Briana Mishler added d 13 points including three three point baskets.  5-8 Fr. Andrea Patterson chipped in with nine points and four rebounds.  Aundrea Matchen recorded seven points and seven rebounds.

Madison Raque led Eastern with 22 points including three three point baskets.  Markeia Porter added 12 points, six rebounds, and three steals.  Claire Hart recorded six points and 11 rebounds.

Sacred Heart Academy defeated Mercy Academy by a score of 71-54.  Sacred Heart shot 51% from the field including six of 14 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on 13 of 16 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 23 Mercy turnovers.  Mercy shot 40.4% from the field including three of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Jaguars connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 17 Sacred Heart turnovers.

DaiJia Ruffin led Sacred Heart with 24 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals.  Raven Merriweather added 19 points, seven assists, and six steals.  Gretchen Samsel chipped in with 11 points including two three point baskets.  Lydia Taylor pulled down 11 rebounds.

Malerie Martin led Mercy with 12 points and 11 rebounds.  Hannah Bewley also scored 12 points.  Elizabeth Anderson added 10 points and four rebounds.

Breia Torrens, and 5-6 Fr. Jaelynn Penn.

Butler raced out to a 27-11 first quarter lead on their way to a 62-42 victory over Male.  Butler shot 57.1% from the field including two of six from the three point line.  The Bearettes connected on four of four free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 32 points off 31 Male turnovers.  Male shot 29.8% from the field including one of six from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on 13 of 17 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 24 Butler turnovers.

Danielle Lawrence led Butler with 23 points, eight rebounds, and six steals.  Jaelynn Penn added 14 points, four rebounds, five assists, and seven steals.

I’Liyah Green led Male with 11 points, nine rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Taylor Jackson added 10 points and six steals.  5-4 8th grader Ciaja Harbison chipped in with seven points.
