Bishop Brossart coach Mike Code started the following lineup: 6-6 Jr. Alex Trentman, 6-2 Jr. Erik Rieger, 6-6 Jr. Drew Burns, 5-10 Sr. Ben Uebel, and 6-2 Sr. Justin Saunders.  Oldham County coach Jason Holland countered with 6-1 Sr. Anthony Lape, 6-2 Sr. Jacob Kopp, 6-4 Sr. Garrett Masters, 5-10 Sr. Sam Gruber, and 6-0 So. Conner Hicks.

 

Bishop Brossart captured a 58-52 overtime victory over Oldham County.  Bishop Brossart’s Justin Saunders connected on two free throws with 4.4 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the score at 47-47 to force overtime.  Bishop Brossart outscored Oldham County 14-6 in the fourth quarter to overcome a 41-33 deficit after three quarters.  Bishop Brossart shot 37% from the field including two of 15 from the three point line.  The Mustangs connected on 22 of 27 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 23 Oldham County turnovers.  Oldham County shot 47.4% from the field including seven of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on nine of 17 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 17 Bishop Brossart turnovers.

 

Justin Saunders led Bishop Brossart with 27 points including 13 of 14 free throws, six rebounds, and four steals.  Drew Burns added nine points, five rebounds, and three steals.  Alex Trentman pulled down nine rebounds.

Ohio County defeated Bourbon County by a score of 72-57.  Ohio County shot 50.9% from the field including 10 of 22 from the three point line.  The Eagles connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 15 Bourbon County turnovers.  Bourbon County shot 41.7% from the field including nine of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on eight of 14 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 10 Ohio County turnovers.

 

Jonathan Wortham led Ohio County with 20 points.  Trevor Lewis added 18 points including four three point baskets and eight rebounds.  Preston Lambrich chipped in with 15 points.  BJ Morse recorded eight points, 12 rebounds, and five blocked shots.

 

Snoop Johnson led Bourbon County with 27 points including four three point baskets, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Jacob Pitts added seven points including two three point baskets.

Jarod Griffin.  Somerset Academy Prep coach Cory Canter countered with 6-4 Sr. Jordan Hall, 6-3 Sr. Christian Stephens, 6-5 Jr. Deion Pierre, 5-11 Sr. Raul Guardia, and 5-11 Sr. Josh Miranda.

 

Lexington Catholic raced out to a 571-12 halftime lead as they shot a torrid 71.4% from the field in the half on their way to a 81-33 victory over Somerset Academy Prep.  Coach Salsman substituted early and often as the starters playing time ranged from 7:25 to 10:38 minutes.  Fourteen LexCath players entered the scoring column.  Lexington Catholic shot 61.4% from the field including three of seven from the three point line.  The Knights connected on 24 of 36 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 16 Somerset Academy Prep turnovers.  Somerset Academy Prep shot 29.8% from the field including two of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Panthers connected on three of nine free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Jack Whitman led Lexington Catholic with 16 points and seven rebounds in only 8:58 minutes of playing time.  5-9 So. Michael Talbott added 12 points and Tanner Johnson chipped in with 11 points.  Tom Banahan recorded four points and 10 rebounds.

Tyler Harville led LCA with 28 points including six three point baskets.  Matt Rose added 25 points and 11 rebounds.

Henry Clay captured the championship with a 69-64 come-from-behind victory over Lexington Catholic.  LexCath led 50-41 with 2:51 left in the third quarter when Jack Whitman went out with a hand injury.  Whitman later returned but suffered an apparent concussion and spent the last seven minutes of the game on the bench.  Lexington Catholic took a 56-50 lead early in the final quarter but Henry Clay went on an 11-0 run to take a 61-56 lead and control of the game with Whitman on the bench.
