West Jessamine (18-12)  vs.  East Jessamine (26-4) (Championship)

 

West Jessamine coach Damon Kelley started the following lineup: 6-2 So. Daulton Peters, 6-2 Jr. Robby Irgang, 6-3 Jr. Chase Fain, 6-0 So. Will Henderson, and 6-1 Sr. Jeff Ziemann.  East Jessamine coach Chris O’Bryan countered with 6-0 Sr. Michael Rexroat, 6-0 Sr. Cody Collins, 6-2 Jr. Timmy Bradshaw, 5-10 Sr. C.J. Boyd, and 6-0 Sr. Tashan Hairston.

 

East Jessamine rallied in the final quarter to record a 63-56 come-from-behind victory over West Jessamine.  West Jessamine led 19-8 early in the second quarter but East Jessamine rallied to lead 29-28 at halftime.  West Jessamine led 44-41 after three quarters but the Jaguars outscored west Jessamine 22-12 in the final quarter to earn the victory.

 

East Jessamine shot 38.5% from the field including six of 21 from the three point line.  The Jaguars connected on 17 of 26 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 21 West Jessamine turnovers.  West Jessamine shot 43.8% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Colts connected on 10 of 16 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 East Jessamine turnovers.

 

Michael Rexroat led East Jessamine with 20 points including five three point baskets.  Cody Collins added 13 points and 6-2 Fr. Ronnie Carson chipped in with 10 points.  C.J. Boyd recorded nine points, four rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  6-0 Sr. Cameron Thomas pulled down eight rebounds.

 

6-1 Sr. Heath Jackson led West Jessamine with 12 points and seven rebounds.  Daulton Peters added 11 points and eight rebounds.  Jeff Ziemann chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets.  Robby Irgang added nine points.  Chase Fain recorded seven points, six rebounds, and four assists.
