Waggener  vs.  Fern Creek

 

Waggener coach Maurice Ponder started the following lineup: 5-6 So. Jada Jackson, Shannon Martin, 6-2 Fr. Alexandria Peden, 5-5 Jr. Destiny Lamb, and 5-6 Sr. Carlesha Rice.  Fern Creek coach Candyce Bingham countered with 5-9 So. Allison Winstead, 5-6 Jr. Star Gathright, 5-8 So. Treasure Rogers, 5-2 So. Macie Jackson, and 5-6 Fr. Natela White.

 

Waggener raced out to a 12-2 first quarter lead on their way to a 51-28 victory over Fern Creek.  Neither team shot well from the field (Waggener 27.6% and Fern Creek 23.3%) but Waggener scored 24 points off 13 Fern Creek turnovers and held a 19-7 advantage in second chance points.

 

Waggener shot 27.6% from the field including two of eight from the three point line.  The Lady Wildcats connected on 17 of 33 free throws, pulled down 51 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 24 Fern Creek turnovers.  Fern Creek shot 23.3% from the field including two of eight from beyond the arc.  The Lady Tigers connected on only six of 20 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored two points off 13 Waggener turnovers.

 

Jada Jackson led Waggener with 13 points including three three point baskets and pulled down six rebounds.  5-6 Fr. Stephanie Wooldridge added 11 points and 11 rebounds.  Alexandria Peden chipped in with eight points and six rebounds.

 

5-7 Jr. Rau Jau’ Terry led Fern Creek with 16 points.  Allison Winstead pulled down 14 rebounds.

Lexington Christian Academy coach Jason Seamands started the following lineup:  5-8 So. Katelin Bundy, 5-7 Jr. Kristen Rinehart, 6-1 Sr. Kristen Jacob, 5-5 8th grader Carah Burdette, and 5-4 Sr. Kelli Mitchuson.  Ballard coach Steve Kaufman countered with 5-10 So. Ki’Ana Richardson, 5-9 So. Dre’a Matchen, 6-2 Jr. Maddie Martin, 5-4 So. Amherry Watkins, and 5-7 Fr. Alex Martin.

 

Ballard defeated Lexington Christian Academy by a score of 55-50.  Ballard shot 31.3% from the field including three of 19 from the three point line.  The Lady Bruins connected on 10 of 13 free throws, pulled down 51 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 16 LCA turnovers.  LCA shot 31.3% from the field including six of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Eagles connected on 13 of 14 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored nine points off 19 Ballard turnovers.

 

Alex Martin led Ballard with 23 points, nine rebounds, and four assists.  Maddie Martin added 11 points and eight rebounds.  Ki’Ana Richardson pulled down nine rebounds.

 

Kristen Rinehart led LCA with 19 points and seven rebounds.  Katelin Bundy added 19 points including three three point baskets, and pulled down six rebounds.  Kristen Jacob recorded nine points, 18 rebounds, and three blocked shots.

Kiara Barnes.  LaRue County coach Travis Wooton countered with 6-0 So. Ivy Brown, 5-10 Jr. Haley Holt, 6-2 Jr. Alisha Durbin, 5-6 Sr. Shana Zajdel, and 5-9 Fr. Alexis Brewer.

 

LaRue County defeated Central by a score of 53-24.  LaRue County shot 41.5% from the field including one of three from the three point line.  The Lady Hawks connected on 18 of 32 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 23 Central turnovers.  Central shot 19.2% from the field including two of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lady Jackets connected on two of 11 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored six points off 20 LaRue County turnovers.

 

Ivy Brown led LaRue County with 15 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals.  6-1 So. Allison Evans added 14 points and 11 rebounds.  Alexis Brewer recorded 13 points and six rebounds.  Alisha Durbin pulled down nine rebounds.

 

Jerea Brice led Central with nine points and 13 rebounds.

Holy Cross coach Fred Copass started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Sydney Morabito, 5-8 Sr. Mya Hardin, 6-0 Sr. Julie Skaggs, 5-3 Jr. Morgan Wimberg, and 5-6 Sr. Kim Mingus.  Male coach Jeff Sparks countered with 5-7 Fr. Taylor Jackson, 5-8 Sr. Brittinee Jones, 5-7 Sr. Katie Watson, 5-6 Jr. Jasmine Kraft, and 5-4 Sr. Taylor Messex.

 

Holy Cross held Male to 13.5% from the field (5-37) in a 36-16 victory.  Holy Cross shot 40.5% from the field including one of four from the three point line.  The Lady Cougars connected on one of three free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 19 Male turnovers.  Male shot 13.5% from the field including three of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on three of six free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored six points off 16 Holy Cross turnovers.

 

5-3 Jr. Jillian Epperson led Holy Cross with eight points.  Mya Hardin added seven points and six rebounds.  Sydney Morabito chipped in with six points and five rebounds and Kim Mingus also scored six points.

South Oldham defeated Butler by a score of 49-35.  South Oldham shot 36.1% from the field including zero of four from the three point line.  The Lady Dragons connected on 23 of 35 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 23 Butler turnovers.  Butler shot 23.9% from the field including two of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Bearettes connected on 11 of 20 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 27 South Oldham turnovers.  Butler lost three players (Aareon Smith, Cora Moore, and MacKenzie Martinez via the foul route tonight).

 

Jasmine Whitfield led South Oldham with 14 points and nine rebounds.  Mary Dye added 13 points, nine rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Maddie Wright also pulled down nine rebounds.

 

Aareon Smith led Butler with 10 points.  Alexis Stallard added nine points.

Pleasure Ridge Park defeated Butler County by a score of 55-52.  There were 12 lead changes and seven ties in this game.  Pleasure Ridge Park shot 34.7% from the field including three of 13 from the three point lines.  The Lady Panthers connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 14 Barren County turnovers.  Barren County shot 40.4% from the field including five of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Trojanettes connected on nine of 18 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Pleasure Ridge Park turnovers.

 

Kelsey Adwell led PRP with 28 points and nine rebounds.  Katrina Kuban added nine points and eight rebounds.  Rayven Shead pulled down 11 rebounds.

Lewis, 6-4 Jr. Cierra Drake, 5-5 Sr. Megan Mattingly, and 5-6 Sr. Ashley Wimsett.  Harvest Prep (OH) coach David Dennis Sr. countered with 5-8 Sr. Makayla Briggs, 5-8 Jr. Briana Bannermann, 5-11 Sr. Sarah Crowder, 5-5 Jr. Cheyenne Rose, and 5-4 Jr. Breanna Mitchell.

 

Nelson County defeated Harvest Prep (OH) by a score of 63-34.  Nelson County shot 43.9% from the field including five of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Cards connected on eight of 18 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 22 Harvest Prep turnovers.  Harvest Prep shot 21.2% from the field including zero of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Warriors connected on 12 of 19 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 20 Nelson County turnovers.

 

Cierra Drake led Nelson County with 16 points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots.  A.J. Lewis added 11 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  5-6 Fr. Caitlin Hagan recorded 10 points including two three point baskets.

 

Sarah Crowder led Harvest Prep with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
