Lexington Catholic coach Chelsea Chowning started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Alex Botkin, 5-9 Fr. Rachel Blake, 6-0 Sr. Elizabeth Walton, 5-8 Sr. Bonnie Rhule, and 5-9 Jr. Octavia Wilson.  Seneca coach Latasha Peterson countered with 6-2 Jr. Kearra Pennie, 5-9 Jr. Niya Anderson, 6-3 Jr. Sabrina Jackson, 5-5 Jr. Jenna Meredith, and 5-7 Jr. Jada Grady.

 

Lexington Catholic raced out to a 27-11 first quarter lead on their way to a 67-47 victory over Seneca.  Turnovers were Seneca’s Achilles’ heel as Lexington Catholic scored 38 points off 31 Seneca turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 41.9% from the field including eight of 17 from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on seven of 14 free throws and pulled down 31 rebounds.  Seneca shot 36.2% from the field including five of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Redhawks connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored nine points off 15 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Alex Botkin led Lexington Catholic with 14 points, five rebounds, and seven steals.  Elizabeth Walton added 13 points, 10 rebounds, and five steals.  Octavia Wilson recorded 13 points including three three point baskets, eight assists, and six steals.  Bonnie Rhule chipped in with 11 points, six assists, and three steals.

 

Jada Grady led Seneca with 13 points including three three point baskets and five steals.  Niya Jackson added 12 points and five rebounds.  Kearra Pennie recorded nine points, 13 rebounds, and three assists.

Sacred Heart Academy defeated Boyd County by a score of 60-49.  Sacred Heart shot 42.2% from the field including two of seven from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on 20 of 29 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 22 Boyd County turnovers.  Boyd County shot 37.2% from the field including five of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Lions connected on 12 of 21 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 16 Sacred Heart turnovers.

 

Raven Merriweather led Sacred Heart with 16 points, nine rebounds, and seven steals.  DaiJia Ruffin added 11 points and eight rebounds.  Jade Tubb also scored 11 points.  5-5 Sr. Erica Walsh also reached double figures with 10 points.

 

Taylor Wheeler led Boyd County with 17 points.  Logan Fraley added nine points.  Courtney Moore chipped in with eight points and four steals.

Meade County defeated Assumption by a score of 51-50.  Meade County shot 34.8% from the field including nine of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Waves connected on 10 of 14 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 18 Assumption turnovers.  Assumption shot 39.2% from the field including three of 10 from the three point line.  The Rockets connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 17 Meade County turnovers

 

Morgan Turner led Meade County with 21 points including four three point baskets and nine rebounds.  Raley Johnson added 14 points including three three point baskets.  Maya Luney chipped in with eight points and eight rebounds.

 

6-6 Fr. Nora Kiesler led Assumption with 15 points, nine rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Katie Friedrich added 12 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.

Lincoln County led 46-44 after three quarters but Ballard rallied for a 62-57 victory.  Ballard shot 44.9% from the field including two of nine from the three point line.  The Lady Bruins connected on 16 of 21 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 20 Lincoln County turnovers.  Ballard held a 47-5 advantage in bench scoring.  Lincoln County shot 29.8% from the field including five of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Patriots connected on 24 of 27 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 24 Ballard turnovers.

 

5-9 So. Dre’a Matchen led Ballard with 19 points, five rebounds, and four steals.  5-7 Fr. Alex Martin added 15 points and seven assists.  Ki’Ana Richardson chipped in with 13 points.  Javonna Layfield recorded seven points and seven rebounds.  Maddie Martin added six points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots.

 

Emily Fox led Lincoln County with 23 points including four three point baskets and four steals.  Sydney Harris added 10 points.

Christian Academy of Louisville led 33-32 at halftime and pulled away in the second half for a 78-61 victory over Scott County.  CAL shot 44.6% from the field including eight of 19 from the three point line.  The Lady Centurions connected on 20 of 21 (95.2%) from the free throw line, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 13 Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 32.2% from the field including seven of 26 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 16 of 29 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored nine points off 11 CAL turnovers.

 

China Dow led CAL with 29 points including 12 of 13 free throws, seven rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Paige Gardner added 14 points.  Tatyianna Taylor chipped in with 13 points including six of six free throws and 14 rebounds.  5-7 Sr. Katie Shaheen added 12 points on four three point baskets.

 

Audriana Christopher led Scott County with 21 points and seven assists.  Ally Conrad added 17 points including five three point baskets.  Tereka Guyn recorded nine points and nine rebounds.

Central led 38-22 after three quarters but Butler rallied for a 51-46 victory.  Butler shot 32.1% from the field including two of three from the three point line.  The Bearettes connected on 15 of 20 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 18 Central turnovers.  Butler held a 16-7 advantage in second chance points.  Central shot 36% from the field including three of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Jackets connected on seven of 13 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 17 Butler turnovers.

 

Aareon Smith led Butler with 11 points and 11 rebounds.  Alexis Stallard and 5-2 Sr. Cora Moore added nine and eight points respectively.  Shakiera Bell chipped in with six points, eight rebounds, and three blocked shots.

 

Nikcoa Jackson led Central with 15 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Kiara Barnes added 10 points including two three point baskets.

Whitney Hartlage led Mercy with 15 points including three three point baskets.  Christine Roush added 13 points and 10 rebounds.  5-10 Jr. Victoria Dircksen recorded nine points.  Courtney Roush chipped in with eight points and eight rebounds.

Lexington Catholic outscored Christian County 16-4 in the third quarter in a 56-46 victory.  Lexington Catholic shot 53.3% from the field including three of 10 from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on five of 10 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 19 Christian County turnovers.  Christian County shot 42.9% from the field including three of eight from beyond the arc.  The Lady colonels connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 13 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Alex Botkin led Lexington Catholic with 19 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Octavia Wilson added 15 points, six assists, and three steals.  Elizabeth Walton chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds.

Simon Kenton scored 25 points off 26 East Carter turnovers in a 55-35 victory.  Simon Kenton led 20-17 at halftime and pulled away in the second half for the win.  Simon Kenton shot 38.6% from the field including zero of four from the three point line.  The Lady Pioneers connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and held a 16-6 advantage on second chance points.  East Carter shot 30.6% from the field including four of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Raiders connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored seven points off 17 Simon Kenton turnovers.

 

5-2 So. Makenzie Hester and Hannah Stephenson led a balanced Simon Kenton attack with nine points each.  Sarah Tomlin and Abby Owings each recorded eight points.  Rachel Cox recorded six points, eight rebounds, and four blocked shots.

St. Joseph (WV) defeated Boyd County by a score of 69-38.  St. Joseph shot 50% from the field including nine of 22 from the three point line.  The Lady Irish connected on eight of 15 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 19 Boyd County turnovers.  Boyd County shot 28.9% from the field including two of 15 from beyond the arc..  The Lady Lions connected on 10 of 17 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 15 St. Joseph turnovers.

 

Griffin Dempsey led St. Joseph with 23 points including five three point baskets.  Mychal Johnson added 15 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and five steals.  Asia Petitte chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds.

Ryle raced out to a 22-2 first quarter lead on their way to a 62-36 victory over Meade County.  Ryle shot 49% from the field including five of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Raiders connected on nine of 17 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 31 points off 21 Meade County turnovers.  Meade County shot 31.1% from the field including four of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Waves connected on four of five free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored four points off 15 Ryle turnovers.

 

Jenna Crittendon led Ryle with 26 points including three three point baskets and 10 rebounds.  McKell Oliverio added 11 points and five rebounds.

Butler outscored Monroe County 17-5 in the final quarter to earn a come-from-behind 43-37 victory.  Butler shot 31.8% from the field including three of 12 from the three point line.  The Bearettes connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 23 Monroe County turnovers.  Monroe County shot 32.5% from the field including two of eight from beyond the arc.  The Lady Falcons connected on nine of 11 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 13 Butler turnovers.

 

Aareon Smith led Butler with 14 points and five rebounds.  Danielle Lawrence added 10 points and six rebounds.  Alexis Stallard chipped in with nine points including two three point baskets.
