Lincoln County (7-8)  vs.  Wolfe County ((4-8)

 

Lincoln County coach Jeff Jackson started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Zack Hill, 6-3 So. Luke Hill, 6-4 Jr. Micah Ward, 6-0 Sr. Levi Gifford, and 5-9 Jr. Trenton Edgington.  Wolfe county coach Robert Scott Creech countered with 6-3 Jr. Sawyer Denniston, 5-10 Jr. Tyler Hayes, 6-5 Jr. Zane Holton, 5-10 Sr. Kenny Broughton, and 5-8 Fr. Garrett Dunn.

 

Lincoln County led 32-7 at halftime and coasted to a 75-46 victory over Wolfe County.  Wolfe County only shot 18.8% from the field in the first half.  Lincoln County shot 54.9% from the field including seven of 16 from the three point line.  The Patriots connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 19 Wolfe County turnovers.  Wolfe County shot 46.2% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc.  Wolfe County shot 65.2% from the field in the second half.  The Wolves connected on six of 10 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored three points off 10 Lincoln County turnovers.

 

Zack Hill led Lincoln County with 30 points, 10 rebounds, and four steals.  Hill was 11 of 16 from the field including three three point baskets and five of seven from the free throw line.  Micah Ward and Levi Gifford added 13 and 10 points respectively.  Trenton Edgington dished out 11 assists.

 

Sawyer Denniston led Wolfe County with 14 points and seven rebounds.  So. Jacob Gilbert added 11 points.

Henry Clay (9-5)  vs.  Lexington Catholic (13-2)

 

Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Trae Stewart, 6-0 Sr. Kendrick Prewitt, 6-6 Sr. Daniel Kiesling, 6-0 Sr. Brandon Nichols, and 5-8 Jr. Wes Kimball.  Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 Sr. Taylor Martin, 6-4 Sr. Scott Schuette, 6-5 Jr. Craig Floyd, 5-10 Jr. Bryan Woomer, and 6-0 Sr. Seth Beckham.

 

Lexington Catholic led 50-42 late in the third quarter but Henry Clay rallied to earn a 63-60 victory.  Lexington Catholic held a 60-59 lead with 54 seconds remaining in the game but a Kendrick Prewitt basket with 45 seconds remaining in the game gave Henry Clay a 61-60 lead and two Brandon Nichols free throws with eight seconds remaining in the game made the final score 63-60.

 

Henry Clay shot 50% from the field including two of 11 from the three point line.  The Blue Devils connected on 13 of 21 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 20 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 46.7% from the field including five of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Knights connected on 13 of 22 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 17 Henry Clay turnovers.

 

Kendrick Prewitt led Henry Clay with 18 points.  Wes Kimball added 13 points.  Trae Stewart pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.

 

Taylor Martin led Lexington catholic with 22 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  Craig Floyd added 15 points and Scott Schuette chipped in with 11 points including three three point baskets.

Roger Bacon coach Brian Neal started the following lineup: 6-6 Sr. Jabriel Coaston, 6-2 Sr. Paul Byrd, 6-8 Sr. Jared Bryant, 6-1 Sr. Gavin Schumann, and 6-1 Sr. Brady Garner.  Jeffersontown coach Jeff Morrow countered with 6-3 Jr, Desmond Dorsey, 6-2 Jr. Cody Russell, 6-5 Jr. Daniel Ross, 5-11 Jr. Demichael Jackson, and 6-1 Jr. Jordan Hagan. (Note: three of J-town’s starters 6-10 Sr. Zach Price, 6-2 Sr. Harry Cross, and 6-5 Sr. Tony Kimbro are out with injuries.)

 

Jeffersontown defeated Roger Bacon by a score of 52-45.  Jeffersontown shot 55% from the field including five of 10 from the three point line.  The Chargers connected on three of 13 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 11 Roger Bacon turnovers.  Roger Bacon shot 34.6% from the field including four of 14 from the three point line.  They connected on five of eight free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored three points off nine Jeffersontown turnovers.

 

Cody Russell led the victors with 15 points including two three point baskets.  Desmond Dorsey and Daniel Ross added nine points each.

 

6-2 Sr. Rashad Peterkin led Roger Bacon with 14 points including four thee point baskets.  Gavin Schumann also scored 14 points.  Jared Bryant recorded eight points and 13 rebounds.
