Lexington Catholic has put together another great five days of basketball.  Eight of the top ten and seventeen of the top twenty-five teams in the Lexington Herald-Leader pre-season preview are entered in this tournament.  They are #1 Marion County, #2 duPont Manual, #5 Mercy, #6 Boone County, #7 Perry County Central, #8 Butler, #9 Bowling Green, #10 Elizabethtown, #11 Clay County, #12 Sacred Heart, #15 Ryle, #18 Owensboro Catholic, #19 Anderson County, #21 Christian Academy of Louisville, #22 Lexington Catholic, #23 Newport Central Catholic. And #24 Murray.

 

Many of the top players in the state are scheduled to play in this star-studded event.  Fifteen of the top twenty-five players in the Lexington Herald-Leader pre-season preview are featured in this tournament.  The players are #2 Makayla Epps (Marion County), #3 Sydney Moss (Boone County), #5 Rebecca Greenwell (Owensboro Catholic), #8 Kendall Noble (Perry County Central), #9 April Wilson (duPont Manual), #11 Kyvin Goodin-Rogers (Marion County), #12 Whitney Belle Jackson (Clay County), #13 Adrienne Tarrence (Bowling Green), #14 Danay Fothergill (Southwestern), #15 Jenna Crittendon (Ryle), #17 Natalie Greenwell (Elizabethtown), #19 Bre Elder (Marion County), #22 Juliann Miller (Mercy), #24 Adelaide Luckett (Elizabethtown), and #25 Paige Slone (Knott County Central).

 

The Lexington Herald-Leader preview also listed the best players in each region, and the number one player in seven of the sixteen regions is scheduled to play in this event.  The regionally ranked number one players in this event are (Region #3) Rebecca Greenwell, (Region #5) Makayla Epps, (Region #6) Megan Cureton, (Region #7) April Wilson, (Region #9) Sydney Moss, (Region #13) Whitney Belle Jackson, and (Region #14) Kendall Noble.

 

I will attempt to provide a capsule report for each game with expanded coverage given to each game I personally view.  Spelling of players names varies from program to program and sometimes the heights of the players are not provided so I apologize I advance for any inaccuracies.
