Monday March 1st

 

Bryan Station  (17-9)  vs.  Franklin County  (23-7)

 

Bryan Station coach Karra Jackson started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Nealy Williams, 5-7 Sr. Mikyla Mosby, 6-0 Sr. Alesha Prince, 5-6 Jr. Carrington Caise, and 5-5 Sr. Whitney Blackwell.  Franklin County coach Joey Thacker countered with 5-10 So. Ashli Mayes, 5-6 Jr. Lacinda Hack, 5-10 Sr. Chelsea Craig, 5-2 Fr. Brittany Mello, and 5-11 Sr. Andrea Howard.

 

Franklin County defeated Bryan Station 57-55 in overtime.  Chelsea Craig scored all six of Franklin County’s points in overtime.  Bryan station held a 19-10 lead in the second quarter and led 25-21 at halftime.  Franklin County rallied to lead 43-39 at the end of three quarters.  Bryan Station led 51-45 late in the game but back-to-back three point baskets by Lacinda Hack tied the score and force overtime.

 

Franklin county shot 33.3% from the field including two of nine from the three point line.  The Lady Flyers connected on 15 of 17 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 20 Bryan Station turnovers,  Bryan Station shot 42.9% from the field including one of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lady Defenders connected on six of nine free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored five points off 17 Franklin County turnovers.

 

Chelsea Craig led Franklin County with 25 points and 10 rebounds.  Andrea Howard added 13 points and 10 rebounds.  Lacinda Hack chipped in with 11 points including two big three point baskets.

 

Alesha Prince led Bryan Station with 20 points and six rebounds.  5-8 Fr. Serena Sandusky added 10 points and Carrington Caise chipped in with nine points.

Tates Creek coach Justin Cheatham started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Lizza Jonas, 5-7 Fr. Katie Pippen, 5-6 Fr. Dominique Etling-Turner, 5-1 Fr. Lexi Whaley, and 5-4 Fr. Oney Harrison.  Madison Central coach Robbie Cooksey countered with 6-0 Fr. Ashton Feldhaus, 5-9 Jr. Jenna Cornelison, 5-10 Sr. Brislyn Sizemore, 5-5 Fr. Larryn Brooks, and 5-6 Jr. Erika Parks.

 

Madison Central held a decided advantage in the paint as they outscored Tates Creek 42-22 in the paint in a 63-47 victory.  Madison Central shot 42.4% from the field including zero of six from beyond the arc.  The Lady Indians connected on 13 of 20 free throws, pulled down 48 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 18 Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 34.8% from the field including three of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Commodores connected on 12 of 19 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 15 Madison Central turnovers.

 

Brislyn Sizemore led Madison Central with 16 points and nine rebounds.  Jenna Cornelison added 15 points and 12 rebounds.  Larryn Brooks also reached double figures with 10 points.

 

Lizza Jonas led Tates Creek with 14 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, and five steals.  Oney Harrison added 11 points.

Richmond Model  (14-13)  vs.  Lexington Christian Academy  (21-6)

 

Richmond Model coach 5-10 So. Tara Hill, 5-6 Sr. Emily Lowe, 5-9 Sr. Shelby McNeely, 5-6 Sr. Shelby Schneid, and 5-5 So. Madison Schneid.  Lexington Christian Academy coach Jason Seamands countered with 6-2 Sr. Sarah Beth Barnette, 5-11 So. Olivia Eastham, 5-11 Jr. Kelli Rinehart, 5-5 Jr. Rachel Cox, and 5-5 So. Kelli Mitchuson.

 

Lexington Christian Academy raced out to a 23-7 first quarter lead on their way to a 69-49 victory over Richmond Model.  LCA shot 50.9% from the field including seven of 19 from the three point line.  The Lady Eagles connected on six of 11 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 19 Model turnovers.  Model shot 30.4%  from the field including three of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Patriots connected on four of eight free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 28 LCA turnovers.

 

Kelli Mitchuson led LCA with 21 points including five three point baskets.  Mitchuson also recorded four assists and four steals.  Kelli Rinehart added 18 points and 11 rebounds.  Sarah Beth barnette recorded 10 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocked shots.

 

Shelby McNeely led Model with 13 points and four assists.  Tara Hill added 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Woodford County coach Jay Lucas started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Amy Morford, 5-9 Jr. Alyssa Lucas, 5-11 Fr. Hannah Morgan, 5-9 So. Catie Fletcher, and 5-6 Jr. Taylor Kelly.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 5-10 8th grader Tereka Guyn, 5-10 Sr. Madisen Webb, 5-9 Jr. Alex McKenzie, 5-7 Sr. Breonna McKee, and 5-10 Jr. Kristen Stainback.

 

Scott County led 27-8 after the first quarter on their way to a 72-41 victory over Woodford County.  Fifteen players saw action for Scott County tonight with twelve Lady Cardinals entering the scoring column.  The starters playing time ranged from 8:58 to 19:26 minutes.

 

Scott County shot 52.8% from the field including six of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 10 of 17 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 33 points off 23 Woodford County turnovers.  Woodford County shot 31.7% from the field including three of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Yellowjackets connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored five points off 14 Scott County turnovers.

 

5-5 so. Ally Conrad led Scott County with 11 points including three three point baskets.  5-5 8th grader Audriana Christopher also scored 11 points.  Breonna McKee also reached double figures with 10 points.  Madisen Webb added nine points including two three point baskets in only 8:58 minutes.  Alex McKenzie chipped in with eight points and seven rebounds.  Kristen Stainback dished out nine assists and recorded five steals.

 

Alyssa Lucas led Woodford County with nine points on three three point baskets.  Taylor Kelly added eight points and five assists.

Madison Central  (28-1)  vs.  Franklin County  (24-7)  (Semifinal)

 

Madison Central coach Robbie Cooksey started the following lineup: 6-0 Fr. Ashton Feldhaus, 5-9 Jr. Jenna Cornelison, 5-10 Sr. Brislyn Sizemore, 5-5 Fr. Larryn Brooks, and 5-6 Jr. Erika Parks.  Franklin County coach Joey Thacker countered with 5-10 So. Ashli Mayes, 5-6 Jr. Lacinda Hack, 5-10 Sr. Chelsea Craig, 5-11 Jr. Chelsea Rivers, and 5-11 Sr. Andrea Howard.

 

Franklin County pulled away late in the game to defeat Madison Central 69-59 and hand the Lady Indians their second loss of the season.  Madison Central led 57-56 with 2:26 remaining in the game when Jenna Cornelison fouled out of the game.  Franklin County closed out the game on a 13-2 run connecting on 13 of 16 free throws as Madison Central began to foul to regain possession.  There were 14 lead changes and 11 ties in this game with the final score being the largest margin of the night.

 

Franklin County shot 47.6% from the field including zero of two from the three point line.  The Lady Flyers connected on 29 of 41 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 17 Madison central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 36.45 from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Indians connected on 15 of 21 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 21 Franklin County turnovers.

 

Andrea Howard led Franklin County with 19 points including nine of 12 free throws and pulled down five rebounds.  Chelsea Craig added 15 points including seven of seven free throws and pulled down eight rebounds.  Ashli Mayes chipped in with 14 points and nine rebounds.

 

Larryn Brooks led Madison central with 16 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.  Jenna Cornelison and 5-5 Sr. Christina Ciolek each recorded 11 points.

Scott county pulled away in the second half for a 62-48 victory over Lexington Christian Academy.  Scott County shot 46.9% from the field including one of seven from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 15 of 18 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 18 LCA turnovers.  LCA shot 33.3% from the field including four of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Eagles connected on 14 of 22 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored five points off 15 Scott County turnovers.

 

Madsien Webb led Scott County with 22 points, five rebounds.  Kristen Stainback added 17 points.  Alex McKenzie chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds.  Tereka Guyn chipped in with nine points and seven rebounds.

 

Sarah Beth Barnette closed out a brilliant career with LCA with 31 points including three three point baskets and 10 rebounds.  Miss Barnette is another top candidate for Miss Basketball and finishes her career with three All “A” titles and one state championship.  Kelli Rinehart added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Scott county pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Franklin County by a score of 74-56.  Scott County shot 47.4% from the field including two of eight from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 18 of 22 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 19 Franklin County turnovers.  Franklin county shot 31.5% from the field including two of seven from beyond the arc.  The Lady Flyers connected on 20 of 32 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored four points off 12 Scott County turnovers.

 

Madisen Webb led Scott County with 23 points and six assists.  Kristen Stainback added 20 points and six assists.  Tereka Guyn chipped in with 12 points.  Alex McKenzie recorded eight points and eight rebounds.

 

Andrea Howard led Franklin County with 23 points and 10 rebounds.  Chelsea Craig added 12 points and 10 rebounds.  Lacinda Hack chipped in with 10 points.
