Rockcastle County (7-2)  vs.  Scott County (5-3)

 

Rockcastle County coach Chrysti Noble started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Jackie Alexander, 5-5 Jr. Angie Lawrence, 6-2 Jr. Sara Hammond, 5-3 Jr. Ella McQueary, and 5-6 Jr. Kristin Abney.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 5-10 8th grader Tereka Guyn, 5-11 Sr. Madisen Webb, 5-9 Jr. Alex McKenzie, 5-5 8th grader Audriana Christopher, and 5-10 Jr. Kristen Stainback.

 

Rockcastle County outscored Scott County 20-10 in the final quarter in a 66-52 victory.  Scott County trailed 36-35 at halftime but only managed to shoot 28.6% from the field in the second half.

 

Rockcastle County shot 50.9% from the field including three of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Rockets connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 13 points off nine Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 40% from the field including two of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 10  of 15 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored seven points off 10 Rockcastle County turnovers.

 

Angie Lawrence led Rockcastle County with 17 points.  Kristin Abney added 14 points including two three point baskets.  Jackie Alexander chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds.  Sara Hammond recorded 10 points, eight rebounds, and three blocked shots.

 

Alex McKenzie led Scott County with 15 points and 10 rebounds.  Kristen Stainback added 14 points.  Madisen Webb recorded six points, five rebounds, and eight assists.

Sheldon Clark held a 41-30 advantage in rebounding and enjoyed a 14-6 margin in second chance points over their taller opponents in a 57-49 victory over Montgomery County.  The score was tied 31-31 at halftime but  Montgomery County went cold from the field in the second half and was outscored 26-18 after the intermission.

 

Sheldon Clark shot 35% from the field including three of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Cards connected on 12 of 17 free throws and scored 14 points off 14 Montgomery County turnovers.  Montgomery County shot 36.4% from the field including three of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on 14 of 17 free throws and scored 11 points off eight Sheldon Clark turnovers.

 

Carla Booth led Sheldon Clark with 28 points, eight rebounds, and three steals.  Candance Porter added 10 points and eight rebounds.

 

Mary Jehlik led Montgomery County with 13 points and eight rebounds.  Macie Spence added nine points and seven rebounds.

Franklin County outscored Casey County 22-10 in the second quarter in a 53-45 victory.  Franklin County shot 47.6% from the field including two of three from the three point line.  The Lady Flyers connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 13 Casey County turnovers.  Casey County shot 47.5% from the field including four of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Rebels connected on three of four free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 12 points off nine Franklin County turnovers.

 

Ashli Mayes led Franklin County with 22 points.  Chelsea Craig and Andrea Howard added 11 and nine points respectively.

 

Megan Pittman led Casey County with 16 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.  Jasmine Johnson added 12 points including two three point baskets.  Nicole Coffman chipped in with 10 points.

Boone County held a 14-2 advantage in second chance points in a 68-49 victory over North Hardin.  Boone County shot 48.4% from the field including two of 14 from the three point line.  The Lady Rebels connected on four of 11 free throws,  pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 19 North Hardin turnovers.  North Hardin shot 40.5% from the field including five of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Trojans connected on 10 of 18 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 13 Boone County turnovers.

 

Sydney Moss led Boone County with 29 points and nine rebounds.  Moss was 14 of 19 from the field and one of two from the free throw line.  Heather Sandlin recorded 11 points, six rebounds, and dished out 10 assists.

 

Lexi Taft led North Hardin with 17 points including three three point baskets.  Chanel Roberts added 12 points, eight rebounds, and five steals.

The score was tied 25-25 at halftime but Scott County outscored Montgomery County 21-10 in the third quarter on their way to a 67-51 victory.  Scott County held a decisive 16-4 advantage in second chance points.

 

Scott County shot 44.8% from the field including zero of two from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 15 of 23 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 12 Montgomery turnovers.  Montgomery County shot 36.4% from the field including two of eight from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on nine of 17 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 17 Scott County turnovers.

 

Kristen Stainback led Scott County with 20 points and eight rebounds.  Madisen Webb also recorded 20 points.  Alex McKenzie recorded 11 points and 10 rebounds.

 

Olivia Colliver led Montgomery County with 16 points.  Mary Jehlik added 11 points, eight rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Macie Spence pulled down nine rebounds.

Madisen Webb led Scott County with 24 points including two three point baskets and dished out six assists.  Alex McKenzie added 17 points and 10 rebounds.  Kristen Stainback chipped in with 15 points.
