Quality Education Academy  vs.  Mountain State Academy

 

Quality Education Academy started the following lineup: 6-7 Jr. Dominic Pointer, 6-10 Jr. Quincy Miller, 6-10 Sr. Juvonte Reddic, 6-0 Jr. Anthony Fields, and 6-4 Jr. Charles McKinney.  Mountain State Academy countered with 6-7 So. Anthony Bennett, 6-6 Sr. Justin Martin, 7-1 Sr. David Nyarsuk, 6-4 Jr. Ronald Ross, and 6-2 Sr. Jabs Newby.

 

Mountain State Academy outscored Quality Education Academy 18-9 in the final quarter to earn a 58-57 victory.  Quality Education held a 25-13 lead in the second quarter.  Mountain State held a 23-10 advantage in second chance points.

 

Mountain State shot 33.8% from the field including six of 23 from the three point line.  The Falcons connected on six of 11 free throws, pulled down 48 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 17 Quality Education Academy turnovers.  Quality Education Academy shot 47.9% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Pharoahs connected on seven of 14 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 15 Mountain State Academy turnovers.

 

Anthony Bennett led Mountain State Academy with 16 points and 10 rebounds.  Ronald Ross added 12 points.  David Nyarsuk recorded 10 points and 13 rebounds.

 

Juvonte Reddic and Quincy Miller led Quality Education Academy with 17 points each.  Miller recorded three three point baskets.

Scott County (8-5)  vs.  Male (7-6)

 

Scott County coach Billy Hicks started the following lineup: 6-3 So. Tamron Manning, 6-2 So. Isaiah Ivey, 6-8 Sr. Dakotah Euton, 6-3 Sr. Ge-Lawn Guyn, and 6-4 Sr. Chad Jackson.  Male coach Tom Crews countered with 6-2 Sr. James Pillischafske, 6-4 Sr. Tony Horne, 6-1 Sr. Donavis Duncan, 6-0 Sr. Kevin Glenn, and 5-11 Sr. D’Carlo Hayes.

 

Male raced out to a 15-2 early lead but Scott County rallied and pulled away for a 69-54 victory.  Male only connected on 15 of 30 free throws and Scott County held a 25-8 advantage in bench scoring.

 

Scott County shot 53.8% from the field including six of 15 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored five points off 14 Male turnovers.  Male shot 35.3% from the field including three of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Bulldogs pulled down 23 rebounds and scored 21 points off 23 Scott County turnovers.

 

6-3 Sr. Austin Flannery came off the bench to lead Scott County with 23 points including three three point baskets and pulled down five rebounds.  Dakotah Euton added 15 points including three three point baskets and pulled down 12 rebounds.  Ge-Lawn Guyn chipped in with 14 rebounds, five rebounds, and five assists.  Chad Jackson recorded 13 points and nine rebounds.

 

Tony Horne led Male with 17 points and six rebounds.  James Pillischafske and D’Carlo Hayes added 12 and 11 points respectively.

Clark County coach Scott Humphrey started the following lineup:  6-6 Jr. Jaylen Daniel, 6-8 Jr. Vinny Zollo, 6-5 Jr. Corey Rogers, 6-0 Sr. Chase Kindred, and 6-4 Jr. Robbie Stenzel.  Lexington Christian Academy coach Tommy Huston countered with 6-1 Sr. Branden Burdette, 6-3 Sr. Evan Stephens, 6-4 Sr. Charles Gullett, 5-7 Sr. Will Kindred, and 6-1 So. Taylor Barnette. (Note:  6-7 Sr. Will Evans will not play tonight due to a sprained ankle).

 

Clark County outscored LCA 20-8 in the final quarter to pull away for a 63-45 victory.  Clark County shot 44.2% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 14 of 21 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 14 LCA turnovers.  LCA shot 33.3% from the field including six of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on three of nine free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 13 Clark County turnovers.

 

Vinny Zollo led Clark County with 19 points, 15 rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Corey Rogers added 16 points and six rebounds.  Robbie Stenzel and Jaylen Daniel added 12 and 10 points respectively.

 

Taylor Barnette led LCA with 18 points including four three point baskets.  Brandon Burdette added 16 points.

Anthony Bennett, 6-6 Sr. Justin Martin, 7-1 Sr. David Nyarsuk, 6-4 Jr. Ronald Ross, and 6-2 Sr. Jabs Newby.  Findlay College Prep countered with 6-8 Sr. Godwin Okonji, 6-3 Jr. Nick Johnson, 6-10 Sr. Tristan Thompson, 6-3 Sr. Marko Petrovic, and 6-3 Sr. Cory Joseph.

 

Findlay Prep scored 33 points off 18 Mountain State Academy turnovers in a 79-54 victory.  Findlay Prep shot 56.4% from the field including eight of 15 from the three point line.  The Pilots connected on nine of 15 free throws and pulled down 33 rebounds.  Mountain State Academy shot 40.4% from the field including four of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Falcons connected on four of eight free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored eight points off 15 Findlay Prep turnovers.

 

Marko Petrovic led Findlay Prep with 22 points including six three point baskets.  Petrovic was eight of 10 from the field including six of seven from beyond the arc.  Tristan Thompson added 19 points and 10 rebounds.  Godwin Okonji chipped in with 17 points and eight rebounds.  Nick Johnson also reached double figures with 11 points and dished out seven assists.

 

6-6 Ahmad Ibrahim led Mountain State Academy with 22 points.  Jabs Newby and Ronald Ross added seven and six points respectively
