Lexington Catholic scored 25 points off 30 Betsy Layne turnovers and held a 31-5 advantage in bench scoring in a 67-43 victory.  Lexington Catholic shot 38.7% from the field including three of 15 from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on 16 of 20 free throws and pulled down 42 rebounds.  Betsy Layne shot 37.8% from the field including three of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cats connected on 12 of 26 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 19 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Alex Botkin led Lexington Catholic with 17 points and 11 rebounds.  6-0 So. Elizabeth Walton and Anna Gayle Scott added 10 points each.

 

Taylor Hott led Betsy Layne with 11 points and six rebounds.  Taylor Watkins added nine points and nine rebounds.  Lindsey Martin chipped in with eight points.

Lincoln County outscored Montgomery County 13-0 in the final quarter in a 39-31 victory.  Montgomery County raced out to a 19-6 lead in the second quarter and held a 21-14 lead at halftime.  Lincoln County’s aggressive defense keyed their comeback win in the second half.

 

Lincoln County shot 24.4% from the field including two of 17 from the three point line.  The Lady Patriots connected on 17 of 20 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 22 Montgomery County turnovers.  Montgomery County shot 37.9% from the field including one of six from beyond the arc.  The Lady Indians connected on eight of 14 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored six points off 16 Lincoln County turnovers.

 

Jessica Upchurch led Lincoln County with 14 points.  5-10 Fr. Sydney Harris added seven points.  Kendra Brown recorded six points and 10 rebounds.

 

Annie Garland led Montgomery County with 16 points.  Mary Jehlik added eight points and nine rebounds.

Conner defeated Ballard 73-64 in a game that took three overtimes to decide.  Conner shot 40.8% from the field including nine of 21 from the three point line.  The Lady Cougars connected on 24 of 38 free throws, pulled down 54 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 18 Ballard turnovers.  Ballard shot 28.8% from the field including five of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bruins connected on 13 of 22 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 30 points off 28 Conner turnovers.

 

Toria Fischer led Conner with 31 points including six of eight from the three point line.  5-10 So. Amanda Ray added 11 points and 14 rebounds.  Devin Beasley recorded nine points, six rebounds, and six assists.

 

Nicole Heitz led Ballard with 16 points, seven rebounds, and eight steals.  Larissa Stafford and Bryelle Bonds added 12 and 10 points respectively.  5-11 Jr. Tavey Smith recorded seven points and 12 rebounds.

Kara Wright led Manual with nine points and six rebounds.  6-1 Fr. Kayla Styles added eight points and eight rebounds.

St. Joseph raced out to an early 14-5 lead and still led 24-20 at halftime.  Clay County went on a 13-0 run in the third quarter to take a 33-24 lead.  St. Joseph rallied to tie the score at 37-37 but Clay County came back for a 43-40 victory.

 

Clay County shot 46.4% from the field including one of five from the three point line.  The Lady Tigers connected on 16 of 22 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 18 St. Joseph turnovers.  St. Joseph shot 38.1% from the field including two of eight from beyond the arc.  The Irish connected on six of seven free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 19 Clay County turnovers.

 

Whitney Belle Jackson led Clay County with 18 points and six rebounds.  Jordan Phillips and Alisha Mitchell added 10 and nine points respectively.

Michelle Woods hit a long three point basket with three seconds left on the clock to give Community School a 40-37 victory over Breathitt County.  Community School shot 38.9% from the field including eight of 21 from the three point line.  The Lady Seahawks connected on four of eight free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 11 Breathitt County turnovers.  Breathitt County shot 47.1% from the field including five of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cats did not attempt a free throw, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 15 points off eight Community School turnovers.

 

Michelle Woods led the victors with 18 points including three three point baskets.  Jackie King added nine points.

Ballard shot 25.8% from the field including three of 17 from the three point line.  The Lady Bruins connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 52 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 20 Betsy Layne turnovers.  Ballard attempted 66 shots from the field compared to 40 attempts for Betsy Layne.  Betsy Layne shot 40% from the field including four of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cats connected on seven of 20 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 18 Ballard turnovers.

Brooke Keeton led St. Joseph with 17 points and eight rebounds.  Dusti Chapman added 14 points and Sara Sang chipped in with 12 points.  Kiki Smith recorded 11 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists.  Amber Chadwick also reached double figures with 10 points.

Katie Allen led Highlands with 26 points including three three point baskets.  Bekah Towles added 24 points.

Lexington Catholic defeated Assumption by a score of 60-57.  Lexington Catholic shot 41.5% from the field including two of nine from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on 14 of 18 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 26 Assumption turnovers.  Assumption shot 41.2% from the field including six of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Rockets connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 17 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Elizabeth Walton led Lexington Catholic with 17 points, nine rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Anna Gayle Scott, 5-9 So. Jill Maronde, and Alex Botkin added 11, 11, and 10 points respectively.

 

Molly Ernst led Assumption with 19 points including four three point baskets and pulled down six rebounds.  Maggie Hartlage added 12 points.  5-7 Fr. Dee Dee Sliter recorded seven points, nine rebounds, and six assists.

Manual defeated Cal by a score of 60-50.  Manual shot 47.9% from the field including two of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Crimsons connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 14 CAL turnovers.  CAL shot 35.4% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Centurions connected on 12 of 14 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 17 Manual turnovers.

 

Mechael Guess led Manual with 18 points.  Kara Wright added 11 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.

 

Antonita Slaughter led CAL with 37 points including three three point baskets and nine rebounds.  Slaughter was 13 of 20 from the field including three of six from beyond the arc and eight of nine from the free throw line.

Marion County scored 27 points off 21 Elizabethtown turnovers in a 54-39 victory.  Marion County shot 44.7% from the field including five of 16 from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on seven of 13 free throws and pulled down 29 rebounds.  Elizabethtown shot 35.3% from the field including four of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Panthers connected on 11 of 13 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 13 Marion County turnovers.

 

Makayla Epps led Marion County with 19 points including three three point baskets.  Bre Elder added 13 points and seven rebounds.  Kyvin Goodin-Rogers chipped in with 11 points and seven rebounds.

5-7 Sr. Andrea King hit two key free throws down the stretch and Marion County held on to defeat Manual 44-42.  Manual had a last second shot rim out and Marion County claimed the championship.

 

Marion County shot 29.8% from the field including five of 16 from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on 11 of 20 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored eight points off 17 Manual turnovers.  Manual shot 43.2% from the field including two of eight from beyond the arc.  The Lady Crimsons connected on two of nine free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored six points off 12 Marion County turnovers.

 

Kyvin Goodin-Rogers led Marion County with 10 points and 11 rebounds.  Bre Elder added 10 points and 10 rebounds.  Brooke Roberts chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets.  Makayla Epps recorded seven points and six assists.
