Fifty-eight teams are scheduled to participate in the 7th Grade Boys State Tournament.  The teams scheduled to participate are Lincoln County, Lexington Christian Academy, Bondurant, Southern, Mercer County, Clark County, Mason County, Leestown, Tates Creek, Beaumont, Fleming, LTMS, McNabb, Cowan, Meece, Eastside, Estill County, Anderson County, Bate, Shelby West, Hazard, East Jessamine, Scott County, Boyle County, Clay County, West Jessamine, Whitley County, Virgie, Northern, Betsy Layne, South Laurel, North Oldham, Johns Creek, Highland, Royal Spring, Conner, Ockerman, Mt. Washington, JCTMS, Glasgow, Wayne County, Williamsburg, AB Combs, McCreary, Holmes, Elkhorn, Knox County, Georgetown, Hopkinsville, Elliott County, Jackson County, My Old Kentucky Home, Bowling Green, Letcher County, Calloway County, Johnson County, Morton, and Taylor County.

All of the teams are scheduled to play a preliminary play-in game which will help determine the brackets for tournament play beginning on Saturday.

Wayne County defeated Knox County by a score of 65-61.  Wayne County recorded six three point baskets while Knox County connected on eight three point baskets.  Logan Gardner led Wayne County with 26 points.  Corey Stearns added 17 points.  Trey Blevins chipped in with 15 points on five three point baskets.  Jeffery Adams and Trent Tuttle led Knox County with 19 points each.  Adams and Tuttle recorded four and three three point baskets respectively.

Congratulations to Wayne County for their excellent championship run.  Also congratulations to both Corey Stearns and Logan Gardner for a great tourney with Gardner receiving the Tourney MVP trophy.  The talent level was extremely good at this event.
