Monday February 23rd

 

Sayre  (17-6)  vs.  Scott County  (13-14)  (Girls)

 

Sayre coach Scott Sutton started the following lineup: 5-7 Jr. Anne MacNeil, 5-7 Jr. Chanel Minnifield, 5-11 Fr. Maddie Mitchell, 5-6 Sr. Karly Mitchell, and 5-6 Sr. Charlotte Cornett.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 5-10 7th grader Tereka Guyn, 5-7 Jr. Breonna Jackson, 5-9 So. Alex McKenzie, 5-9 So. Kristen Stainback, and 5-11 Jr. Madisen Webb.

 

Scott County scored 41 points off 36 Sayre turnovers in a 65-43 victory.  Sayre took a 17-9 first quarter lead but Scott County outscored the Lady Spartans 20-5 in the second quarter to take a 29-22 halftime lead.  Scott County pulled away in the second half outscoring Sayre 36-21 after the intermission.

 

Scott County shot 33.8% from the field including five of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 14 of 24 free throws and  pulled down 34 rebounds.  Scott County attempted 33 more shots (68-35) from the field than Sayre.  Sayre shot 42.9% from the field including one of five from beyond the arc.  The Lady Spartans connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 12 Scott County turnovers.

 

Madisen Webb led Scott County with 24 points including three three point baskets.  Webb also recorded eight rebounds and five assists.  Alex McKenzie added 14 points and 11 rebounds.  Kristen Stainback also scored 14 points.

 

Anne MacNeil led Sayre with 12 points and 14 rebounds.5-9 So. Bea Cameron, Karly Mitchell, and Maddie Mitchell added eight, seven, and seven points respectively.

Sayre coach Ted Hall started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Wesley Walker, 5-11 So. Cabot Haggin, 6-4 Sr. Tebo Barnett, 5-11 Sr. Ryan Brady, and 5-5 8th grader Mike Smith.  Scott County coach Billy Hicks countered with 6-8 Jr. Dakotah Euton, 6-3 Fr. Tamron Manning, 6-8 Sr. Richie Pharres, 6-2 Jr. Ge-Lawn Guyn, and 6-4 Jr. Chad Jackson.

 

Scott County scored 46 points off 29 Sayre turnovers in a 111-41 victory.  Scott County shot 58.7% from the field including 14 of 21 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on nine of 12 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and held a 53-7 advantage in bench scoring.  Sayre shot 40.9% from the field including three of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Spartans connected on two of seven free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored two points off 11 Scott County turnovers.

 

Richie Phares led Scott county with 16 points and seven rebounds.  6-2 Jr. Austin Flannery added 15 points including three three point baskets.  Ge-Lawn Guyn, Dakotah Euton, Chad Jackson, and 5-11 Jr. Hayden Willoughby added 15, 12, 11, and 10 points respectively.

 

Tebo Barnett led Sayre with 13 points and six rebounds.  Mike Smith and Wesley Walker added 10 and nine points respectively.

Henry Clay coach Scott Cromwell started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Brittany Coles, 5-8 So. Candace Morton, 5-10 Sr. Kristin Aweimrin, 5-5 Jr. Pilar Morgan, and 5-6 Sr. Summer Decker.  Bryan Station coach Karra Jackson countered with 5-9 Jr. Nealy Williams, 5-10 Sr. Jeannay Washington, 5-11 Jr. Alesha Prince, 5-5 So. Carrington Caise, and 5-7 Jr. Mikyla Mosby.

 

Bryan Station defeated Henry Clay by a score of 60-57.  Bryan Station shot 40.4% from the field including zero of five from the three point line.  The Lady Defenders connected on 22 of 31 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 18 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 36% from the field including two of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Blue Devils connected on 19 of 33 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 24 Bryan Station turnovers.

 

6-0 So. Amber Crumbie led Bryan Station with 15 points and nine rebounds.  Mikyla Mosby added 13 points.  Jeannay Washington recorded seven points and 11 rebounds.

 

Candace Morton led Henry Clay with 18 points.  Brittany Coles added 12 points and six rebounds.  Kristin Aweimrin chipped in with 10 points.

Bryan Station coach Champ Ligon Jr. started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Jeremiah Mabson, 6-2 Sr. Cameron Richardson, 6-11 Jr. Andrew Adams, 5-10 Sr. Montell Morones, and 6-2 Sr. Charles Ashford.  Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-4 So. Daniel Kiesling, 6-1 So. Trey Stewart, 6-3 Sr. T.J. Barnes, 6-0 Sr. Prince Stewart, and 5-8 Jr. Marquel Johnson.

 

Henry Clay defeated Bryan Station by a score of 81-73.  Henry Clay shot 53.1% from the field including seven of 17 from the three point line.  The Blue Devils connected on 22 of 35 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 11 Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 38.5% from the field including four of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Defenders connected on 19 of 26 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 19 Henry Clay turnovers.

 

Prince Stewart led bryan Station with 32 points including four three point baskets.  Prince also pulled down 10 rebounds.  T. J. Barnes, 5-11 So. Brandon Wilder, and 5-10 So. Brandon Nichols recorded 12 points each.

 

Charles Ashford led Bryan Station with 19 points and eight rebounds.  6-0 Jr. Joe Fain and Montell Morones added 16 and 13 points respectively.

Bryan Station coach Karra Jackson started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Nealy Williams, 5-10 Sr. Jeannay Washington, 5-11 Jr. Alesha Prince, 5-5 So. Carrington Caise, and 5-7 Jr. Mikyla Mosby.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 5-10 7th grader Tereka Guyn, 5-7 Jr. Breonna Jackson, 5-9 So. Alex McKenzie, 5-9 So. Kristen Stainback, and 5-11 Jr. Madisen Webb.

 

Scott County defeated Bryan Station by a score of 85-74.  Scott County shot 39.7% from the field including four of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 19 of 23 free throws, pulled down 52 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 20 Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 35.1% from the field including 11 of 28 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Defenders connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored eight points off 14 Scott County turnovers.

 

Kristen Stainback led Scott County with 29 points.  Madisen Webb added 22 points, 18 rebounds, and 12 assists.  Tereka Guyn and 5-5 8th grader Ally Conrad chipped in with 10 points each.  Alex McKenzie recorded eight points and 12 rebounds.

 

Mikyla Mosby led Bryan Station with 24 points including six three point baskets.  Carrington Caise added 15 points including three three point baskets, pulled down six rebounds, and dished out 10 assists.  5-7 8th grader Serena Sandusky and 6-0 So. Amber Crumbie added 12 and 10 points respectively.  Alesha Prince recorded eight points and 11 rebounds.

Scott County held a 34-15 advantage in rebounds and a 17-5 advantage in second chance points in a 79-69 victory over Henry Clay.  Scott County shot 56% from the field including five of 12 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 18 of 25 free throws and scored 19 points off 21 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 51.9% from the field including nine of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Blue Devils connected on six of eight free throws and scored 19 points off 24 Scott County turnovers.

 

Dakotah Euton led Scott County with 26 points and 10 rebounds.  Ge-Lawn Guyn added 21 points including three three point baskets.  Richie Phares recorded 18 points and 11 rebounds.  Chad Jackson chipped in with 10 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists.

 

Prince Stewart led Henry Clay with 20 points including four three point baskets.  Marquel Johnson and 5-10 So. Brandon Nichols added 12 points each.
