Montgomery County Coach Janie Robinson started the following lineup: 5-11 Jr. Kayla Webb, 5-4 Jr. Katie Jo Thompson, 6-3 So. Mary Jehlik, 5-7 Jr. Mackenzie Lee, and 5-8 Sr. Maggie Prewitt. Lexington Catholic Coach Jeff Hans countered with 5-11 Sr. Natalie Novosel, 5-10 Jr. Shaneque McGhee, 6-0 Sr. Lauren Conrad, 5-9 Jr. Maggie Wilson, and 5-9 Sr. Briana Green.
Lexington Catholic led 33-21 in the third quarter but had to survive a furious rally by Montgomery County to claim a 51-44 victory. Montgomery County rallied to take a lead midway throught the final quarter but Lexington Catholic rallied for the victory.
Lexington Catholic shot 37.5% from the field including two of nine from the three point line. The Lady Knights connected on 13 of 16 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 18 Montgomery County turnovers. Montgomery County shot 32.7% from the field including four of 17 from beyond the arc. The Indians connected on six of 10 free throws, grabbed 37 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 14 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Natalie Novosel led Lexington Catholic with 20 points, seven rebounds, and six steals. Briana Green added 12 points and eight rebounds. Maggie Prewitt led Montgomery County with 11 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and six steals. 5-11 Jr. Elizabeth Prewitt and 6-0 Jr. Brooke Colliver added seven points each. Colliver pulled down nine rebounds.
