Paul Dunbar (2-0) vs. Lexington Catholic (1-1)

Dunbar Coach Carl "Redd" Hutchinson started the following lineup:  6-3 Sr. De'Andre Webb, 5-11 Jr. Nick Hudson, 6-7 Jr. Tyler Rogers, 5-9 Sr. Seth Davis, and 5-11 Sr. Dion Johnson.  Lexington Catholic Coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-6 Sr. Jordan Smart, 6-5 Sr. Taylor Stewart, 6-5 Sr. Nathan Novosel, 5-10 Sr. John Tribble, and 6-2 Jr. Taylor Botkin

Lexington Catholic blitzed Paul Dunbar 30-7 in the first quarter in a 79-57 victory.  The Dunbar competed on an even footing the rest of the game, actually outscoring Lexington Catholic 50-49 over the last three quarters.  The Knights press hurt Dunbar in the first quarter and they scored 29 points off 25 Dunbar turnovers for the game. 

Lexington Catholic shot 54.2% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Knights connected on 23 of 27 free throws and pulled down 35 rebounds.  Dunbar shot 41.8% from the field including two of 13 from the three point line.  The Bulldogs connected on nine of 17 free throws, grabbed 27 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 23 Lexington Catholic turnovers. 

Jordan Smart led Lexington Catholic with 19 points and six rebounds.  Taylor Stewart added 16 points and seven rebounds.  Nathan Novosel and Taylor Botkin chipped in with 12 points each.  Nick Hudson led Paul Dunbar with 18 points and six rebounds.  De'Andre Webb and Dion Johnson added 15 points each.
