LCA Coach Tommy Huston started the following lineup: 6-5 So. Will Evans, 6-2 Sr. Cam Marshall, 6-5 Jr. Grant Sparks, 6-2 Jr. Tyler Townsend, and 6-0 Sr. Trace Helton. Lexington Catholic Coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-6 Sr. Jordan Smart, 6-5 Sr. Taylor Stewart, 6-5 Sr. Nathan Novosel, 6-2 Jr. Taylor Botkin, and 5-10 Sr. John Tribble.
Lexington Catholic totally dominated in the first quarter, outscoring Lexington Christian Academy 29-7 on their way to an 84-62 victory. Lexington Catholic shot a sizzling 64% from the field and 100% from the free throw line. LCA only committed 18 turnovers but the Knights capitalized for 34 points off the LCA miscues.
Lexington Catholic shot 64% from the field including eight of 13 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 12 of 12 free throws and pulled down 24 rebounds. LCA shot 46.9% from the field including nine of 21 from beyond the arc. The Eagles connected on seven of nine free throws, grabbed 21 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 14 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Taylor Stewart led Lexington Catholic with 21 points. 6-3 Jr. Vee Sanford came off the bench to score 19 points. Sanford was seven of seven from the field including three of three from beyond the arc and two of two from the free throw line. Jordan Smart and Nathan Novosel also reached double figures with 16 and 10 points respectively. Cam Marshall led Lexington Christian Academy with 17 points. Will Evans added 13 points and six rebounds. Tyler Townsend and 6-1 Sr. Wes Rogers added 10 points each. Townsend and Marshall recorded three three point baskets each.
