Berea  (16-12)  vs.  Model  (3-21)  (Girls)

 

Berea coach Jerry Bingham started the following lineup: 5-11 So. Elizabeth Horn, 5-10 Jr. Chelsea Atwater, 5-8 So. Brittany Harris, 5-6 Fr. Brooke Hazelwood, and 5-4 Sr. Amanda Thacher.  Model coach Steven Minter countered with 5-8 Sr. Lauren Heath, 5-6 Sr. Kathryn Engle, 5-8 Jr. Kristina Ritter, 5-7 Jr. Chelsey Weaver, and Emily Lowe.

 

Berea earned a decisive 58-34 victory over Model.  Berea shot 47.7% from the field including three of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Pirates connected on 13 of 24 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored nine points off 17 Model turnovers.  Model shot 28.9% from the field including one of six from beyond the arc.  The Lady Patriots connected on seven of 15 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored nine points off 15 Berea turnovers.

 

Elizabeth Horn led Berea with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  5-7 So. Haley Webb added 13 points and five rebounds.  Brittany Harris chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds.  Chelsea Atwater recorded nine points and nine rebounds.

 

Kathryn Engle led Model with 11 points.  Chelsea Weaver added seven points.  Lauren Heath chipped in with four points and seven rebounds.

Berea coach Todd Baldwin started the following lineup: 6-1 Jr. Tyler Mills, 5-10 Jr. Josh Campbell, 6-4 Sr. Judah Short, 5-9 Jr. Brian Mosher, and 5-9 jr. Jacob Gilbertson.  Model coach Kent miller countered with 6-3 Sr. Quenton Sandwith, 6-2 Sr. David Musick, 5-10 Sr. Jarrod Middleton, 5-10 Sr. Brett Miller, and 6-2 Sr. Kevin Haun.

 

Model defeated Berea by a score of 72-52.  The victors shot 42.6% from the field including five of 18 from the three point line.  The Patriots connected on 15 of 22 free throws and pulled down 41 rebounds.  Model held a 23-3 advantage in second chance points and enjoyed a 46-6 advantage in bench scoring.  Berea shot 33.3% from the field including two of four from beyond the arc.  The Pirates connected on 16 of 31 free throws and grabbed 41 rebounds.

 

6-0 Jr. Devon Gerald led Model with 23 points and 14 rebounds.  5-11 Jr. Nicholas Dunaway added 17 points and six rebounds.

 

Tyler Mills led Berea with 15 points.  Josh Campbell added 14 points.  Judah Short chipped in with eight points and 11 rebounds.

Madison Southern coach Brian Cunigan started the following lineup: 5-7 Sr. Tiffany Willis, 5-5 Sr. Paige McGuire, 5-8 Sr. Sierra Merida, 5-3 So. Liz Hogwood, and 5-4 Jr. Nikki Jeck.  Madison Central coach Guy Gandolfo countered with 5-7 So. Lyndsay Jones, 5-6 Fr. Christina Ciolek, 5-11 Fr. Brislyn Sizemore, 5-9 Sr. Lyndsey Simmons, and 5-6 Fr. Iesha Farris.

 

Nikki Jeck hit a three-pointer in the closing seconds to give Madison Southern a dramatic 51-49 victory over Madison Central.  Madsion Southern shot 38.3% from the field including two of nine from the three point line.  The Lady Eagles connected om 13 of 16 free throws and pulled down 27 rebounds.  Madison Central shot 36.4% from the field including three of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Indians connected on 14 of 20 free throws and pulled down 33 rebounds.

 

Nikki Jack led the victors with 14 points and five assists.  5-9 So. Brittany Calhoun added 12 points and seven rebounds.  Tiffany Willis chipped in with 12 points and five rebounds.

 

Iesha Farris led Madison Central with 23 points and seven rebounds.  Lyndsey Simmons added 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Carrington Roberts.  Madison Central coach Allen Feldhaus Jr. countered with 6-6 Jr. Aaron Morris, 6-1 So. Keshawn Simpson, 6-4 Jr. Chavez Dean, 6-4 Sr. Jason Beach, and 6-2 Sr. Duane Fields.

 

Madison Central led 28-24 at halftime but outscored Madison Southern 25-2 in the third quarter in a 74-46 victory.  Madison Central shot 48.3% from the field including one of eight from the three point line.  The Indians connected on 17 of 22 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 15 Madison Southern turnovers.  Madison Southern shot 31.4% from the field including  eight of 24 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on six of 12 free throws and pulled down 32 rebounds.

 

Aaron Morris led Madison Central with 31 points. Five rebounds, three assists, and four blocked shots.  Keshawn Simpson added 12 points and Chavez Dean chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds.

 

Carrington Roberts led Madison Southern with 15 points including four three point baskets.  Josey Cruse added 14 points including four three point baskets.

Madison Southern scored 29 points off 20 Berea turnovers in a 67-53 victory.  Madison Southern shot 44% from the field including two of nine from the three point line.  The Lady Eagles connected on 21 of 41 free throws and pulled down 37 rebounds.  Berea shot 30.4% from the field including five of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Pirates connected on 20 of 33 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 14 Madison Southern turnovers.

 

Nikki Jeck led Madison Southern with 27 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and five steals.  Paige McGuire and Tiffany Willis added 10 and nine points respectively.  5-9 So. Brittany Calhoun recorded eight points and seven rebounds.

 

Elizabeth Horn led Berea with 18 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists.  Chelsea Atwater added 15 points and 12 rebounds.  Brittany Harris recorded 15 points including four three point baskets and pulled down eight rebounds.

Madison Central coach Allen Feldhaus Jr. started the following lineup: 6-6 Jr. Aaron Morris, 6-1 So. Keshawn Simpson, 6-4 Jr. Chavez Dean, 6-4 Sr. Jason Beach, and 6-2 Sr. Duane Fields.  Model coach Kent Miller countered with 6-0 Jr. Devon Gerald, 5-11 Jr. Nicholas Dunaway, 5-10 Sr. Jarrod Middleton, 5-10 Sr. Brett Miller, and 6-2 Sr. Kevin Haun.

 

Madison Central raced out to an 18-2 first quarter lead on their way to a 69-33 victory over Model.  The victors scored 37 points off 34 Model turnovers and held a 44-9 advantage in bench scoring.

 

Madison Central shot 36.2% from the field includingfour of 17 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on 15 of 33 free throws and pulled down 48 rebounds.  Model shot 21.2% from the field including only one of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Patriots connected on 18 of 32 free throws and pulled down 40 rebounds.

 

5-11 Jr. Wesley Metcalfe and 6-0 So. Vince Clay led a balanced Madison Central attack with nine points each.  Chavez Dean added eight points and seven rebounds.

 

Devon Gerald led Model with 15 points and nine rebounds.  Jarrod Middleton added five points.
