Mercy Academy (12-11) vs. Lexington Catholic (23-2)

Mercy Academy coach Mark Evans started the following lineup:  5-8 Jr. Amy Wimsatt, 5-7 Fr. Malisa Cruz, 5-8 Fr. Therese Montano, 5-9 Jr. Katie Wiedmar, and 5-9 Fr. Madison Hardy.  Lexington Catholic acting head coach Tony Talbott countered with 5-11 Jr. Natalie Novosel, 5-9 So. Maggie Wilson, 6-0 Sr. Blake Ratliff, 5-8 Jr. Briana Green, and 5-7 Sr. Keyla Snowden.

Lexington Catholic defeated Mercy tonight by a score of 98-82.  The victorious Lady Knights scored 27 points off 23 Mercy turnovers.  Lexington Catholic recorded 18 steals for the game.

Lexington Catholic shot 55.4% from the field including 10 of 21 from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on 26 of 34 free throws, and pulled down 27 rebounds.  Mercy Academy shot 46.4% from the field including eight of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Jaguars connected on 22 of 23 free throws, grabbed 32 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 17 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Keyla Snowden led five Lady Knights in double figures with 21 points and seven assists.  Briana Green added 19 points, seven rebounds, and 10 assists.  Maggie Wilson also recorded 19 points.  Natalie Novosel chipped in with 17 points, seven rebounds, and eight steals.  5-9 So. Shaneque McGhee also reached double figures with 12 points.

5-8 Sr. Shawna Culver came off the bench to lead Mercy Academy with 28 points including five of six from the three point line.  Culver recorded 17 points in the third quarter.  Therese Montano added 12 points.  Madison Hardy chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds.
