Bullitt East  vs.  Louisville Ballard

 

Bullitt East coach Chris Stallings started the following lineup:  5-10 Sr. Kelli Thompson, 5-10 Jr. Kelly Harrod, 5-10 Sr. Jennifer Fletcher, 5-8 Jr. Whitney Hanley, and 5-6 Fr. Kayla Thacker.  Louisville Ballard coach Ken Smith countered with 5-8 Jr. Jovon Richmond, 5-7 Jr. Amy Lomax, 5-11 Sr. Diamond Metcalf, 5-6 Fr. Nicole Heitz, and 5-6 Sr. Teadra Elliott.

 

Bullitt East outscored Ballard 22-17 in the final quarter to earn a 61-58 victory.  This was a game of runs as Bullitt East roared out of the gate to take a 16-5 first quarter lead.  Ballard rallied to cut the deficit to five, 30-25, at halftime.  Ballard continued their comeback in the third quarter and actually led 41-39 at the break.  Bullitt East recovered to gain a hard-earned victory.

 

Bullitt East shot 37.3% from the field including four of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Chargers connected on 19 of 28 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 17 Ballard turnovers.  Ballard shot 39.6% from the field including three of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bruins connected on 17 of 24 free throws and grabbed 36 rebounds.

 

Whitney Hanley led Bullitt East with 28 points, six rebounds, six assists, and four steals.  Hanley was five of nine from the field including two of three from beyond the arc and 16 of 19 from the free throw line.  Kelly Harrod added 14 points and six rebounds.  Kayla Thacker chipped in with 11 points.

 

6-2 Jr. Jade Barber led Ballard with 18 points and nine rebounds.  Teadra Elliott and 5-7 Jr. Sara Schuler added 14 and 11 points respectively.  Diamond Metcalf chipped in with eight points and 10 rebounds.

Central Hardin  vs.  Mason County

 

Central Hardin coach Terry Buckles started the following lineup:  5-6 Jr. Samantha Sheeran, 5-7 Jr. Kylie Brady, Sr. Ericka Newton, Lesley Bennett, and Michelle Meiller.  Mason County coach Paula Buser countered with 5-9 Jr. De’Sarae Chambers, 5-7 Sr. Torrey Chambers, 5-8 Fr. Keller Menke, 5-8 Jr. Kasey Litzinger, and 5-7 Jr. Lacey Cline.

 

Central Hardin defeated Mason County by a score of 69-62.  The victors shot 50% from the field including six of 16 from the three point line.  The Lady Bruins connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 19 Mason County turnovers.  Mason County shot 49% from the field including two of eight from beyond the arc.  The Lady Royals connected on 12 of 16 free throws, grabbed 31 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 15 Central Hardin turnovers.

 

Samantha Sheeran led Central Hardin with 30 points.  Sheeran was 11 of 16 from the field including three of four from beyond the arc and five of five from the free throw line.  Kylie Brady added 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and five steals.  Kaelyn Day chipped in with 10 points.

 

De’Sarae Chambers led Mason County with 18 points and nine rebounds.  Lacey Cline, Kasey Litzinger, and Keller Menke added 14, 11, and 10 points respectively.  Torrey Chambers chipped in with nine points and seven rebounds.

Butler raced out to a 37-25 halftime lead on their way to a 70-59 victory over Magoffin County.  5-8 Jr. Tia Gibbs paced the victors with 34 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists.  5-10 So. Tiara Hopper added nine points and seven rebounds.

 

Assumption  vs.  Christian County

 

Assumption coaches Bob and Martha Todd started the following lineup:  5-11 Sr. Kelsey Smith, 6-1 Jr. Lauren Huter, 6-0 Sr. Thia Gholson, 5-6 Sr. Amanda Stovall, and 5-8 Sr. Eileen Kennedy.  Christian County coach Don Dillard countered with 5-7 Jr. Shana McCombs, 5-7 So. Danisha Mumford, 6-1 Jr. Rikiah Gatlin, 5-7 So. Shetera Lewis, and 5-8 Sr. Taniesha Blaine.

 

Assumption defeated Christian County by a score of 55-46.  Assumption shot 42.3% from the field including two of 10 from the three point line.  The Rockets connected on nine of 11 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 18 Christian County turnovers.  Christian County shot 31.9% from the field including two of six from beyond the arc.  The Lady Colonels connected on 14 of 20 free throws, grabbed 28 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 19 Assumption turnovers.

 

Lauren Huter led Assumption with 12 points and five rebounds.  Thia Gholson added 11 points, seven rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Amanda Stovall and Eileen Kennedy chipped in with nine points each.  6-0 Jr. Carrie Minogue recorded eight points and 11 rebounds.

 

Danisha Mumford led Christian County with 16 points.  Rikiah Gatlin added 14 points and eight rebounds.  Shetera Lewis chipped in with seven points.

Asia Mathies.  Boone County coach Nell Fookes countered with 6-0 Jr. Katie Behrens, 5-10 Sr. Jackie Hicks, 5-10 Sr. Meredith Reed, 5-8 Sr. Joana Switzer, and 5-5 So. Jacy Bradley.

 

5-5 So. Kayla Hickman, who did not start tonight because of an ankle injury, hit two free throws in the closing seconds of the second overtime to give Iroquois a 68-66 victory over Boone.  The Lady Rebels had one last opportunity but a long three pointer bounced off the rim at the buzzer.

 

Boone County led 54-49 with less than three minutes remaining in regulation, but Iroquois scored five points in a row to force overtime.  Boone County tied the score with less than one second remaining in the first overtime and drew a foul.  The ensuing free throw was missed, forcing the second overtime and Iroquois captured the victory.

 

Iroquois shot 37.1% from the field including only two of nine from the three point line.  The Lady Raiders connected on only 14 of 30 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 24 Boone County turnovers.  Boone County shot 40.7% from the field including six of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Rebels connected on 16 of 22 free throws, grabbed 44 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 14 Iroquois turnovers.

 

Adia Mathies led Iroquois with 19 points and 12 rebounds.  Asia Mathies added 18 points, six rebounds, and seven steals.  Kayla Hickman also reached double figures with 10 points including the game-winning free throws.

 

Katie Behrens led Boone County with 17 points and 14 rebounds.  Meredith Reed added 14 points and seven rebounds.  5-7 So. Beth Sparrow, Jacy Bradley, and Jackie Hicks added each recorded nine points and Hicks also pulled down eight rebounds.

Avery Jones, 5-6 Sr. Ladajar Baker, and 5-7 Jr. Danielle Woodmore.

 

Manual held a 51-18 advantage in rebounds and a 25-8 advantage in second chance points in a 74-56 victory over Nelson County.  Nelson County held an 18-0 advantage over Manual in three point points.

 

Manual shot 45.6% from the field including zero of nine from the three point line.  The Lady Crimsons connected on 22 of 29 free throws and scored 18 points off 15 Nelson County turnovers.  Nelson County shot 42.9% from the field including six of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 14 of 28 free throws, and scored 17 points off 18 Manual turnovers.

 

Brittany Wilson and Danielle Woodmore each scored 21 points for duPont Manual.  Wilson also pulled down nine rebounds.  Avery Jones added eight points and six rebounds.  6-2 Fr. Brittney Turner chipped in with six points and nine rebounds.

 

Samantha Drake led Nelson County with 23 points and seven rebounds.  Kristen Zimmerman added 13 points including four three point baskets.

Scott County led 38-34 at halftime but broke open the game with a 25-9 run in the third quarter in an 85-64 victory over Mercy Academy.  Scott County scored 36 points off 30 Mercy Academy turnovers.

 

Scott County shot 43.6% from the field including six of 20 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 11 of 17 free throws and pulled down 41 rebounds.  Mercy Academy shot 46.9% from the field including seven of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Jaguars connected on 11 of 25 free throws, grabbed 37 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 17 Scott County turnovers.

 

Madisen Webb led Scott County with 20 points and seven rebounds.  Holly Milburn added 19 points and eight rebounds.  Rebecca Gray chipped in with 11 points and eight assists.  5-7 Fr. Sachi Howard also reached double figures with 10 points.

 

5-8 Sr. Shawna Culver led Mercy with 12 points.  Malisa Cruz added 10 points and six rebounds.  5-8 Fr. Madison Hardy chipped in with nine points.

Shelby County scored 29 points off 21 Rose Hill Christian turnovers in a 79-49 victory.  Shelby County shot 57.9% from the field including seven of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Rockets connected on six of 10 free throws and pulled down 29 rebounds.  Rose Hill Christian shot 40.9% from the field including four of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Royals connected on nine of 13 free throws, grabbed 25 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 12 Shelby County turnovers.

 

Raechele Gray led Shelby County with 31 points, six assists, and five steals.  Gray was 12 of 18 from the field including five of seven from beyond the arc and two of three from the free throw line.  Amber Morrison added 18 points and six assists.

 

Laura Terry led Rose Hill Christian with 22 points including three three point baskets.  Emily Queen added 19 points and 10 rebounds.
