Lexington Christian Academy (6-4) vs. Lexington Catholic (11-5)

Lexington Christian Academy coach Jason Seamands started the following lineup:  6-6 Sr. Seth Lawless, 6-3 Sr. Tyler Rogers, 6-4 Sr. Clay Turner, 6-0 Sr. Blake Morris, and 5-11 Jr. Rich Ludka.  Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 So. Taylor Stewart, 6-4 Sr. Mike Heissenbuttel, 6-6 Sr. Reid Brown, 5-10 Sr. Arian Green, and 6-3 Sr. Brian Hewitt.

Lexington Catholic went on a 16-0 run in the fourth quarter to take control of the game and defeat LCA 77-61.  LCA closed the margin to four, 57-53, early in the fourth quarter before the Knights made their decisive run.  LCA was able to get back in the game because of their three point shooting as they were 12 of 25 from beyond the arc for the night.

Lexington Catholic shot 55.6% from the field, connected on 12 of 21 from the free throw line, and pulled down 32 rebounds.  The Knights scored 29 points off 21 Lexington Christian turnovers.  Lexington Christian shot 40% from the field, connected on nine of 10 free throws, and grabbed 25 rebounds.  LCA actually shot a better percentage from beyond the arc (48%) than from inside the three point line (32%).  Lexington Catholic held a 45-21 advantage in bench scoring.

6-5 So. Nathan Novosel led the victors with 19 points and eight rebounds.  Brian Hewitt, 6-2 Jr. Zach Newton and Reid Brown added 15, 11, and 10 points respectively.  Tyler Rogers, Rich Ludka, and 5-11 Sr. Zach Sanders led Lexington Christian Academy with 12, 11, and 10 points respectively.  Rich Ludka led LCA’s three point barrage with three, while Tyler Rogers, Blake Morris, and Jeremy Hobbs added two three points baskets each.
