Lexington Christian Academy coach Jason Seamands started the following lineup: 6-6 Sr. Seth Lawless, 6-3 Sr. Tyler Rogers, 6-4 Sr. Clay Turner, 6-0 Sr. Blake Morris, and 5-11 Jr. Rich Ludka. Lafayette coach Damon Kelley countered with 6-3 Sr. Greg Leslie, 5-10 So. Dante Stewart, 6-8 Sr. Tyler Wilkerson, 5-10 So. Tommy Gifford, and 6-1 Sr. Pete Gifford.
Lexington Christian Academy connected on 11 three point baskets to lead the Eagles to a 70-66 victory over Lafayette. LCA was 11 of 31 from beyond the arc including seven of 14 in the decisive second half. LCA led 49-48 after three quarters and started the final quarter with a 14-4 lead to push the margin to 11, 63-52. The Eagles needed the cushion as Lafayette cut the margin to two, 68-66 with seconds remaining on the clock. LCA’s Clay Turner hit two late free throws to ensure the victory.
LCA shot 40% from the field, connected on 11 of 16 free throws, and pulled down 46 rebounds. Lafayette shot 36.1% from the field, connected on 10 of 13 free throws, and pulled down 40 rebounds. Lafayette scored 20 points off 16 LCA turnovers.
Tyler Rogers led LCA with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Blake Morris added 14 points including four three point baskets. Clay Turner chipped in with 12 points and 12 rebounds while Rich Ludka recorded 10 points. Tyler Wilkerson led Lafayette with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Greg Leslie added 11 points, five rebounds, and five steals.
