Iroquois (20-5) vs. Lexington Catholic (24-1)

Iroquois coach Al Northington started the following lineup:  5-6 Fr. Kayla Hickman, 5-6 Fr. Stafonia Taylor, 5-7 Fr. Adia Mathies, 5-2 Fr. Asia Mathies, and 5-0 Sr. LaQuisha Wharton.  Lexington Catholic coach Greg Todd countered with 5-10 So. Natalie Novosel, 5-7 So. Briana Green, 6-0 Sr. Anaris Sickles, 5-7 Jr. Keyla Snowden, and 5-8 Sr. Nikki Davis.

Lexington Catholic finally pulled away from Iroquois, the No. 9 ranked team in the state, late in the game to take an 86-71 victory.  The Lady Raiders refused to go away as they closed a 66-51 deficit at the end of three quarters to seven points, 68-61, before the Lady Knights closed out the game.

Lexington Catholic shot 54% from the field including only one of seven from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on 17 of 21 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 20 Iroquois turnovers.  Iroquois shot 48.4% from the field including three of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Raiders connected on six of eight free throws, grabbed 29 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 18 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Briana Green led five Lexington Catholic players in double figures with 17 points and five assists.  Natalie Novosel and Anaris Sickles added 16 and 14 points respectively.  Keyla Snowden chipped in with 13 points and Malik Stevenson recorded 10 points and six rebounds.

Adia Mathies and LaQuisha Wharton led Iroquois with 14 points each and Mathies pulled down eight rebounds.  Asia Mathies added 13 points, five rebounds, six assists, and three steals.  5-9 Fr. Meka Birdsong and 5-11 Jr. Tiffany Simmons each came off the bench to record eight points, with Simmons pulling down five rebounds.
