Henry Clay coach Kirk Chiles started the following lineup: 6-4 So. Aaron Boyd, 6-2 Sr. Aaron Miller, 6-4 So. Victor Moses, 5-11 Jr. Chase Minnifield, and 6-2 Sr. Aaron Dunaway. Paul L. Dunbar coach Carl "Redd" Hutchinson countered with 6-7 Sr. Brandon Sok, 6-0 So. Delreo Webb, 6-6 Sr. Deontay Wright, 5-11 Fr. Nick Hudson, and 5-11 So. Dion Johnson.
Henry Clay rallied from one point down, 65-64, with 1:05 remaining on the clock to take a 71-65 victory over Paul Dunbar. Henry Clay led 63-53 with 3:36 remaining in the game until Paul Dunbar went on a 12-1 run to take the 65-64 lead. Chase Minnifield hit a layup and free throw and Aaron Dunaway nailed four free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.
Henry Clay shot 47.5% from the field including two of five from beyond the arc. The Blue Devils connected connected on 13 of 21 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored nine points off 14 Dunbar turnovers. Paul Dunbar shot 41.3% from the field, including three of 13 from the three point line. The Bulldogs connected on 10 of 22 free throws grabbed 34 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 17 Henry Clay turnovers.
Aaron Dunaway led five Henry Clay in double figures with 19 points. Dunaway added seven rebounds and dished out five assists. Victor Moses added 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Aaron Miller chipped in with 12 points, and 10 rebounds. Aaron Boyd recorded 10 points and six rebounds, and Chase Minnifield also reached double figures with 10 points.
Deontay Wright led Paul Dunbar with 24 points and 15 rebounds. Dion Johnson and Nick Hudson added 15 and 11 points respectively. Brandon Sok chipped in with nine points.
