Assumption (13-1) at Sacred Heart Academy (11-3) 

Assumption coaches Bob and Martha Todd started the following lineup 6-1 Sr. Amber Norton, 5-8 Jr. Eileen Kennedy, 6-1 Jr. Thia Gholson, 5-8 Sr. Liz Todd, and 5-10 Sr. Kelly Mitchell.  Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir countered with 6-1 Jr. Caroline Klein, 5-10 Jr. Katie Kopple, 6-2 Jr. Elizabeth Campbell, 5-8 Jr. Sarah Askin, and 5-6 Sr. Lindsay Boling.

Assumption’s inside duo of Amber Norton and Thia Gholson proved to be too much for Sacred Heart as they combined for 44 points and 19 rebounds in a 65-47 victory.  Assumption held a 35-18 advantage in rebounds and a 13-4 advantage in second chance points.

Assumption shot 48.8% from the field, connected on 23 of 31 free throws, and pulled down 35 rebounds.  The Rockets scored 18 points off 17 Sacred Heart turnovers.  Sacred Heart shot 42.5% from the field, including five of 10 from beyond the arc, connected on eight of 12 free throws, and grabbed 18 rebounds.  Sacred Heart scored 17 points off 18 Assumption turnovers.

Amber Norton led the victors with 24 points and 13 rebounds.  Thia Gholson added 20 points and six rebounds.  Caroline Klein led Sacred Heart with 21 points including four of six baskets from beyond the arc.  Elizabeth Campbell added 14 points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.
