The teams advancing to the 11th Region tournament are Lexington Catholic, Lafayette, Madison Central, Franklin County, Woodford County, Model, Tates Creek, and Lexington Christian Academy. The first round games will be played at the home of the district champions. The semifinals and championship game will be played at McBrayer Arena on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky.
Wednesday March 9th - Day 1
Lafayette (15-14) vs. Lexington Catholic (29-1) (at Lexington Catholic High School)
Lafayette coach Allison Tate Denton started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Lucy Clark, 6-1 Sr. Lori Colson, 6-3 Fr. Que’ Christian, 5-6 Jr. Katie Kelly, and 5-8 So. Cassandra Lawson. Lexington Catholic coach Greg Todd countered with 5-8 Sr. Adaeze Azubuike, 6-0 Jr. Anaris Sickles, 6-1 Sr. Shannon Novosel, 5-6 So. Keyla Snowden, and 5-8 Jr. Nikki Davis.
Lexington Catholic scored 37 points off 33 Lafayette turnovers in a 68-39 victory. Lexington Catholic shot 39.3% from the field, connected on 18 of 24 free throws, and pulled down 32 rebounds. The Lady Knights held a 22-8 advantage in bench scoring. Lafayette shot 33.3% from the field, was 16 of 19 from the free throw line, and grabbed 29 rebounds.
Lexington Catholic was led tonight by Nikki Davis with 18 points, all in the first half. Davis also dished out seven assists. Anaris Sickles added 12 points and 5-9 Fr. Natalie Novosel chipped in with nine points, nine rebounds, and four assists. Keyla Snowden also recorded nine points. Cassandra Lawson led Lafayette with 12 points. Que’ Christian and Lori Colson scored eight points each and Colson pulled down seven rebounds.

Model (11-18) vs. Woodford County (28-1) (at Woodford County High School)
Woodford County took advantage of 33 Model turnovers on their way to an 83-45 victory. Woodford County led 40-28 at halftime but blew the game open in the third quarter as they outscored Model 24-8. The victors were led tonight by 5-9 Sr. Destiny Mattingly with 35 points. Mattingly was 14 of 32 from the field, connecting on four of eight from beyond the arc. Mattingly was three of four from the free throw line. 5-6 8th grader Lyndsay Jones paced Model with 17 points. Jr. Kendra Ritter and So. Lauren Heath added 12 and 11 points respectively.

Thursday March 10th - Day 2
Franklin County (13-16) vs. Madison Central (11-17) (at Madison Central High School)
Franklin County coach Joey Thacker started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Carrie Bistline, 5-7 Jr. Rolanda Rowe, 5-9 Jr. Ally Campassi, 5-5 Sr. Amy Moore, and 5-7 Sr. Dequala Marshall. Madison Central coach Kent Miller countered with 5-9 Sr. Melinda Champ, 5-7 Sr. Libby Letcher, 5-7 Jr. Sasha Turansky, 5-5 Sr. Ashley Wiseman, and 5-5 So. Amara Herald.
Franklin County scored 29 points off 23 Madison Central turnovers in a 62-42 victory. Franklin shot 35.8% from the field, connected on 20 of 34 free throws, and pulled down 41 rebounds. Madison Central shot 27.3% from the field, was 15 of 26 from the free throw line, and grabbed 35 rebounds.
Carrie Bistline led Franklin County with 19 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Ally Campassi and Dequala Marshall added 16 and 14 points respectively. Amara Herald led Madison Central with 26 points. Libby Letcher added three points but pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds.

Lexington Christian Academy (19-10) vs. Tates Creek (19-18) (at Tates Creek High School)
Lexington Christian Academy coach Donna Murphy started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Leah Anderson, 5-10 Jr. Katie Brittain, 5-10 Sr. Cara Johnson, 5-7 Sr. Kayla Yates, and 5-6 So. Emily London. Tates Creek coach Jan Ulmer countered with 6-2 Sr. Kristen Pendleton, , 5-7 Sr. Derrica Morton, 6-2 Sr. Brittany Pittman, 5-8 Sr. Shaquita Dowlen, and 5-7 Sr. Philnisha Lindsey.
Lexington Christian Academy’s Emily London scored her team’s last six points including two acrobatic shots in the lane to give her team a thrilling 40-39 victory. LCA took a 9-1 lead at the end of the first quarter as Tates Creek was an ice cold one of 14 from the field. Tates Creek scrapped back to pull within five, 19-14, at the half. LCA took a 28-19 lead in the third quarter but Tates Creek again scrapped back to tie the score 32-32 in the fourth quarter. The lead changed several times in the closing minutes before London hit the winning basket with 18 seconds remaining in the game. Tates Creek had one last opportunity but could not get off a shot.
Tates Creek shot 47.2% from the field including a torrid 76.5% in the second half. They connected on 21 of 29 free throws, and pulled down 23 rebounds. Lexington Christian Academy shot 43.6% from the field, was 17 of 25 from the free throw line, and grabbed 26 rebounds.
Leah Anderson, Emily London, and Katie Brittain led Lexington Christian Academy with 12, 11, and nine points respectively. Philnisha Lindsey led Tates Creek with 16 points. Shaquita Dowlen, Tiffany Dumas, and Brittany Pittman added five points each with Pittman pulling down 11 rebounds.

Lexington Catholic scored 51 points off 32 Franklin County turnovers in an 84-30 victory. The Lady Knights shot 48.5% from the field, connected on 15 of 18 free throws, and pulled down 47 rebounds. They also held a 31-6 advantage in bench scoring. Franklin County shot 24.4% from the field, was eight of 15 from the free throw line, and pulled down 25 rebounds.
Shannon Novosel led Lexington Catholic with 14 points, nine rebounds, and four blocked shots. Adaeze Azubuike, Keyla Snowden, and 5-6 Fr. Briana Green added 14, 11, and 11 points respectively. Dequala Marshall, Ally Campassi, and Carrie Bistline led Franklin County with eight, seven, and six points respectively.

Lexington Christian Academy (20-10) vs. Woodford County (29-1) Semifinal No. 2
Lexington Christian Academy coach Donna Murphy started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Leah Anderson, 5-10 Jr. Katie Brittain, 5-10 Sr. Cara Johnson, 5-7 Sr. Kayla Yates, and 5-6 So. Emily London. Woodford County coach Jay Lucas countered with 5-11 Sr. Emily Freibert, 5-7 Jr. Amber Penny, 5-7 Jr. Brittany Henderlight, 5-7 8th grader Katy Cooke, and 5-9 Sr. Destiny Mattingly.
Lexington Christian Academy overcame a 14 point deficit in the first hafl to defeat Woodford County 59-52 and snap the Yellowjackets 29 game winning streak. LCA took a 50-42 lead in the fourth quarter before Woodford County rallied to within one, 50-49, but LCA outscored them 9-3 down the stretch to gain the victory.
Lexington Christian Academy shot 44.2% from the field, including seven of 13 from the three point line. The Lady Eagles connected on 14 of 18 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and outscored Woodford County 10-1 from the bench players. Woodford County shot 31.3% from the field, including 10 of 30 from beyond the arc. They connected on 12 of 19 from the free throw line, and pulled down 28 rebounds.
Leah Anderson led Lexington Christian Academy with 15 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Emily London and Kayla Yates added 14 and 12 points respectively. 6-1 Jr. Kirby Barkhart came off the bench to add nine points and six rebounds. Destiny Mattingly led Woodford County with 23 points including five three point baskets. Brittany Henderlight added 14 points. Amber Penny only scored one point but she pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.

Tuesday March 15th – Day 4 (at McBrayer Arena)
Lexington Christian Academy (21-10) vs. Lexington Catholic (31-1) Championship Game
Lexington Christian Academy coach Donna Murphy started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Leah Anderson, 5-10 Jr. Katie Brittain, 5-10 Sr. Cara Johnson, 5-7 Sr. Kayla Yates, and 5-6 So. Emily London. Lexington Catholic coach Greg Todd countered with 5-8 Sr. Adaeze Azubuike, 6-0 Jr. Anaris Sickles, 6-1 Sr. Shannon Novosel, 5-6 So. Keyla Snowden, and 5-8 Jr. Nikki Davis.
Lexington Catholic survived a determined Lexington Christian Academy team to claim a 44-32 victory. The first half featured more turnovers (37) than points (24) as Lexington Catholic struggled to a 15-9 lead. Lexington Catholic went on a 9-0 run to open up a 24-9 lead but LCA rallied in the final quarter to pull within five, 32-27, but could not further narrow the gap.
Lexington Catholic shot 37.1% from the field, connected on 18 of 23 free throws, and pulled down 22 rebounds. Lexington Catholic scored 21 points off 35 Lexington Christian Academy turnovers and held a 10-0 advantage in bench scoring. Lexington Christian Academy shot 37.9% from the field, was seven of nine from the free throw line, and grabbed 24 rebounds. Lexington Catholic committed 24 turnovers but LCA could only capitalize for nine points.
Keyla Snowden led the victors were led tonight with 10 points. Shannon Novosel added eight points and eight rebounds, while Anaris Sickles also recorded eight points. Nikki Davis chipped in with six points, five rebounds, five assists, and five steals. Kayla Yates paced Lexington Christian Academy with 17 points on six of seven from the field including three of three from the three point line and two of three from the free throw line. Leah Anderson added eight points.
