Tates Creek (16-4) at Bryan Station (15-9)  (Girls)

This is an important district contest with Tates Creek entering this game with a 5-1 record while Bryan Station enters play with a 6-2 district slate.  Tates Creek coach Jan Ulmer started the following lineup:  6-1 Sr. Kristen Pendleton, 5-7 Sr. Derrica Morton, 6-2 Sr. Brittany Pittman, 5-4 Sr. Ginneria Harley, and 5-7 Sr. Philnisha Lindsey.  Bryan Station coach Jackie Williams countered with 5-10 Sr. Brittney Clark, 5-6 So. LaKrista Clark, 6-2 Jr. Crystal Leach, 5-7 Jr. Bradli Stinson, and 5-6 Jr. Carley Blankenship.

Bryan Station notched a big district victory with a 48-44 overtime decision over Tates Creek. Tates Creek led at halftime 17-16 as Bryan Station’s Carley Blankenship single-handedly kept her team in the game with 14 first-half points.  Tates Creek held a 38-34 lead late in regulation before a field goal by Brittney Clark and two free throws by Crystal Leach tied the score at 38.  Tates Creek took an early 41-38 lead in overtime but Bryan Station took the lead 44-41 on two three point bombs by Blankenship and they never relinquished the lead.

Bryan Station shot 31.7% from the field including eight of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Defenders connected on 14 of 18 free throws and pulled down 31 rebounds.  Tates Creek shot 30.6% from the field including seven of 17 from the three point line.  The Lady Commodores connected on seven of 17 free throws and grabbed 33 rebounds.

Carley Blankenship led Bryan Station with 20 points including six three point baskets.  Bradli Stinson added 12 points and eight rebounds.  Crystal Leach added nine points and seven rebounds, while Brittney Clark chipped in with five points and nine rebounds.  Philnisha Lindsey led Tates Creek with 18 points including three three point baskets.  5-8 Sr. Shaquita Dowlen added nine points on three baskets from beyond the arc.  Kristen Pendleton added seven points and five rebounds.  Brittany Pittman recorded five points and pulled down 13 rebounds.
