Sacred Heart Academy (17-3) vs. Lexington Catholic (18-1)
Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Taylor Kopple, 5-9 Sr. Jackie Distler, 5-9 Sr. Kelsey McCarty, 5-4 Sr. Jordan Hess, and 5-8 Sr. Carly Ormerod. Lexington Catholic coach Greg Todd countered with 5-9 Sr. Adaeze Azubuike, 6-0 Jr. Anaris Sickles, 6-1 Sr. Shannon Novosel, 5-6 So. Keyla Snowden, and 5-8 Jr. Nikki Davis.
The Lexington Catholic Lady Knights exorcised some personal demons by defeating Sacred Heart 69-50. Sacred Heart had four consecutive wins over Lexington Catholic including two victories in the state championship game. It was a very physical, hard played game and Sacred Heart could only manage 27.3% shooting accuracy from the field.
Lexington Catholic shot 48.1% from the field, connected on 13 of 20 free throws, and pulled down 24 rebounds. The Lady Knights scored 24 points off 17 Sacred Heart turnovers. Lexington Catholic held a 28-11 advantage in bench scoring. Sacred Heart Academy connected on 12 of 20 free throws and pulled down 41 rebounds. Sacred Heart Academy scored 14 points off 19 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
5-10 Fr. Natalie Novosel led the victors with 17 points and six rebounds. Anaris Sickles added 12 points and eight rebounds while Keyla Snowden chipped in with 10 points. Shannon Novosel tallied eight points, pulled down 14 rebounds, and nine blocked five shots. Carly Ormerod led Sacred Heart with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and recorded four steals. Taylor Kopple, Jackie Distler, and 6-1 So. Elizabeth Campbell added eight points each. Kopple and Campbell pulled down nine and eight rebounds respectively.
