Sacred Heart Academy (20-4) at Christian Academy of Louisville (22-3)  (Girls)

Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir started the following lineup:  5-10 Sr. Taylor Kopple, 5-9 Sr. Jackie Distler, 5-9 Sr. Kelsey McCarty, 5-4 Sr. Jordan Hess, and 5-8 Sr. Carly Ormerod.  Christian Academy of Louisville coach Don Rice countered with 5-10 Sr. Ali Shubert, 5-9 Sr. Kristen Blake, 6-2 Sr. Maggie McKemie, 5-10 Sr. Jessie Marshall, and 5-8 Jr. Merideth Marsh.

Sacred Heart Academy's Kelsey McCarty only recorded one point for the night but it was an important one as she hit one of two free throws with 2.4 seconds remaining on the clock to give her team a 42-41 victory over CAL.  This was a game of surges as CAL led 13-9 at the end of the first quarter but SHA rallied to take a 25-20 lead at halftime.  Sacred Heart scored the last seven points of the third quarter to take a 37-29 lead entering the final period.

Christian Academy staged a strong rally in the fourth quarter, outscoring Sacred Heart 12-2 to take a 41-39 lead with approximately one minute left in the game.  Taylor Kopple hit a jumper to knot the score and after a CAL turnover, Sacred Heart ran the clock down before Kelsey McCarty was fouled.  McCarty hit the second of two free throws to give Sacred Heart a 42-41 lead and CAL missed a last second three point attempt to end the contest.

Sacred Heart Academy shot 31% from the field including three of 10 from the three point line.  The Valkyries only visited the free throw line six times, connecting on three shots.  They pulled down 35 rebounds and held a 17-5 scoring advantage off the bench.  CAL shot 32.5% from the field including three of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Centurions were 12 of 15 from the free throw line and pulled down 34 rebounds.

Sacred Heart was led by Carly Ormerod and Taylor Kopple with 10 points each.  Ormerod added nine rebounds and recorded six steals.  Taylor Kopple pulled down nine rebounds and dished out five assists.  5-5 Sr. Allison Denbow came off the bench to add nine points and seven rebounds.  Merideth Marsh led CAL with 17 points, six rebounds and four assists.  Maggie McKemie added seven points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
