Rockcastle County (17-3) vs. Lexington Catholic (19-1)
Rockcastle County coach Chrysti Noble started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Tara Rowe, 5-9 Sr. Katie Parsons, 5-10 Sr. Heather Hammond, 5-6 Jr. Ashely Lunsford, and 5-5 Sr. Johnna Abney. Lexington Catholic coach Greg Todd countered with 5-9 Sr. Adaeze Azubuike, 6-0 Jr. Anaris Sickles, 6-1 Sr. Shannon Novosel, 5-6 So. Keyla Snowden, and 5-8 Jr. Nikki Davis.
Rockcastle County led 47-46 with 6:25 left in the game but Lexington Catholic went on a 15-4 run over the next few minutes on their way to a 66-58 victory. Lexington Catholic led 32-20 at halftime but Rockcastle County fought back with a 27-14 run to take their brief lead in the final period before Lexington Catholic regained control of the game.
Lexington Catholic shot 52.1% from the field, connected on 15 of 21 free throws, and pulled down 36 rebounds. Lexington Catholic scored 18 points off 26 Rockcastle County turnovers and held a 23-8 advantage in bench scoring. Rockcastle County shot 35.6% from the field including six of 17 from the three point line. The Lady Rockets connected on 10 of 18 free throws and pulled down 34 rebounds. Rockcastle County scored 18 points off 29 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Nikki Davis led the victors with 14 points, six rebounds, eight assists, and five steals. 5-6 Fr. Briana Green, Keyla Snowden, and 5-10 Fr. Natalie Novosel added 13, 12, and 10 points respectively. Johnna Abney led Rockcastle County with 15 points. Tara Rowe added 13 points and seven assists while Katie Parsons chipped in with 10 points. Heather Hammond added nine points and pulled down 11 rebounds.
