Frankfort coach Brad Mefford started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Tory Robertson, 5-11 Jr. Matt Anderson, 6-3 Sr. Ryan Cash, 5-11 Sr. Josh Oliver, and 6-1 Sr. Will Current. Henry Clay coach Kirk Chiles countered with 6-3 Fr. Aaron Boyd, 6-0 Sr. Bryan Turnage, 6-2 Jr. Aaron Miller, 5-9 Sr. Noade Day, and 6-2 Jr. Aaron Dunaway.
Henry Clay went on a late 18-2 run to pull away for a 93-67 victory over Frankfort. Frankfort would pull within 10 at times but Henry Clay would answer to maintain a comfortable margin. Henry Clay held a 38-20 advantage in rebounding and outscored Frankfort 27-6 on second chance points.
Henry Clay shot 60.6% from the field, including six of 15 from the three point line. The Blue Devils connected on seven of 12 free throws, and scored 29 points off 17 Frankfort turnovers. Frankfort shot 47.3% from the field including five of 18 from beyond the arc. The Panthers connected on 10 of 12 throws and scored 17 points off 16 Henry Clay turnovers.
Bryan Turnage led Henry Clay tonight with 23 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, four steals, and 12 deflections. Turnage was 10 of 12 from the field and two of five from the free throw line. Turnage also scored his 1,000th career point with his second basket of the night. Aaron Miller added 21 points and Aaron Dunaway chipped in with 17 points and six rebounds. Tory Robertson led Frankfort with 34 points and eight rebounds. Robertson had two three point baskets and recorded several crowd-pleasing dunks. Will Current added 14 points and dished out six assists. Henry Clay focused a lot of their defense tonight toward stopping the deadly three point shooting of Matt Anderson, who was held scoreless.
