This is the sixth year for this prestigious event and features some excellent teams and players for this edition of the tourney. The teams entered are: Archbishop Carroll (Radnor, PA), Barron Collier (Naples, FL), Bishop Verot (Ft. Myers, FL), Chaminade Madonna (Hollywood, FL), Community School of Naples (Naples, FL), Deerfield Beach (Deerfield Beach, FL), Gulf Coast (Naples, FL), Jamestown (Williamsburg, VA), Lakeland Evangel (Lakeland, FL), Lexington Catholic (Lexington, KY), Monsignor Pace (Miami, FL), North Allegheny (Pittsburgh, PA), North Clayton (College Park, GA), Oak Ridge (Oak Ridge, TN), The Peddie School (Hightstown, NJ), and Bradenton Southeast (Bradenton, FL).
There are 16 teams entered in this premier event and the games will be played at Barron Collier High School. The tourney director Byrd Crawford’s 16 team format assures each team will play a minimum of three games.

Monsignor Pace (7-3) vs. Lexington Catholic (9-0)
Monsignor Pace coach Clyde B. Glover started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Jameela Hayes, 6-0 Sr. Marquita Adley, 6-1 Sr. Whitney Fields, 5-5 Jr. Ionnie McNeill, and 5-9 Jr. Chantel Rivero. Lexington Catholic coach Greg Todd countered with 5-9 Sr. Adaeze Azubuike, 6-0 Jr. Anaris Sickles, 6-1 Sr. Shannon Novosel, 5-6 So. Keyla Snowden, and 5-8 Jr. Nikki Davis.
Lexington Catholic scored 58 points off 37 Monsignor Pace turnovers on their way to an 86-36 victory. Lexington Catholic shot 48.4% from the field, was 23 of 35 from the free throw line, and pulled down 41 rebounds. Lexington Catholic held a 31-13 advantage in bench scoring. Monsignor Pace shot 32.6% from the field, connected on six of 13 free throws, and pulled down 30 rebounds.
Lexington Catholic was led by Nikki Davis with 19 points and six assists. 5-6 Fr. Briana Green added 14 points off the bench. Keyla Snowden and Shannon Novosel added 15 and 11 points respectively. 5-9 Fr. Natalie Novosel chipped in with seven points and eight rebounds. Marquita Adley and Ionnie McNeill led Monsignor Pace with 11 and nine points respectively.

The Peddie School (4-2) vs. Lexington Catholic (10-0) (Quarterfinal)
The Peddie School coach Sean Casey started the following lineup: 6-1 Bridgette Mitchell, 5-8 Karly Grace, 6-3 Crystal Goring, 5-8 Devon Carey, and 5-7 Ashley Hart. Lexington Catholic coach Greg Todd countered with 5-9 Sr. Adaeze Azubuike, 6-0 Jr. Anaris Sickles, 6-1 Sr. Shannon Novosel, 5-6 So. Keyla Snowden, and 5-8 Jr. Nikki Davis.
Lexington Catholic survived a third quarter rally by The Peddie School to capture a 59-48 decision Lexington Catholic led 25-12 at halftime but The Peddie School went on a 22-12 run in the third quarter to trail 37-34 entering the final period.
Lexington Catholic shot 36.7% from the field, was 19 of 29 from the free throw line, and grabbed 35 rebounds. The Peddie School shot 38.6% from the field, connected on nine of 15 free throws, and pulled down 34 rebounds. Lexington Catholic scored 28 points off 28 Peddie School turnovers, while The Peddie School could only manage 15 points off 21 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Nikki Davis led Lexington Catholic with 16 points and nine assists. Anaris Sickles and Keyla Snowden added 10 and nine points respectively. Bridgette Mitchell led The Peddie School with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Crystal Goring added 14 points, 14 rebounds, and five blocked shots. Devon Carey added 13 points including three three point baskets.

Oak Ridge coach Jill Prudden started the following lineup: Fr. Kelcee Ramsey, Sr. Colleen McConnell, Jr. Keke Stewart, Sr. Karmen Smith, and So. Dasjanae McClanahan. Lexington Catholic coach Greg Todd countered with 5-9 Sr. Adaeze Azubuike, 6-0 Jr. Anaris Sickles, 6-1 Sr. Shannon Novosel, 5-6 So. Keyla Snowden, and 5-8 Jr. Nikki Davis.
Lexington Catholic scored 28 points off 25 Oak Ridge turnovers in a 56-37 victory. Lexington Catholic shot 42.1% from the field, connected on seven of nine free throws, and pulled down 39 rebounds. Oak Ridge shot 34.9% from the field, connected on seven of 17 free throws, and grabbed 30 rebounds.
5-9 Fr. Natalie Novosel led Lexington Catholic with 14 points, seven rebounds, and five steals. Anaris Sickles added 12 points, eight rebounds, and three blocked shots. Keke Stewart and Karmen Smith led Oak Ridge with 11 and nine points respectively.

Archbishop Carroll vs. Barron Collier (Semifinal)
Archbishop Carroll outscored Barron Collier by a combined score of 33-10 in the second and third quarters to take a 49-34 victory to advance to the championship game. The victors were led by 5-9 Sr. Danielle Costantino with 17 points. Barron Collier was paced today by 5-11 Jr. Courtney Jacob and 5-8 Sr. Nicole Blake with nine and eight points respectively.

Lexington Catholic coach Greg Todd started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Adaeze Azubuike, 6-0 Jr. Anaris Sickles, 6-1 Sr. Shannon Novosel, 5-6 So. Keyla Snowden, and 5-8 Jr. Nikki Davis. Archbishop Carroll coach Barry Kirsch countered with 5-11 Sr. Enonge Stovall, 5-7 Sr. Jessica Pearson, 6-2 Katie Holzer, 6-2 Jr. Tara Lapetina, and 5-9 Sr. Danielle Costantino.
Lexington Catholic led 33-30 at the end of three quarters before pulling away in the final quarter for a 54-44 victory. The score was tied 23-23 at halftime mainly due to the hot shooting of Danielle Costantino who tallied 16 points by the intermission. The victors were 36.5% from the field, connected on 14 of 22 free throws, and pulled down 46 rebounds. Archbishop Carroll shot 28.1% from the field, connected on eight of 13 free throws, and grabbed 34 rebounds.
Lexington Catholic was led by Anaris Sickles with 11 points and 14 rebounds. Keyla Snowden and Nikki Davis each added 11 points. Shannon Novosel only recorded two points but she pulled down 10 rebounds, blocked four shots, and recorded three steals. Danielle Costantino led Archbishop Carroll with 24 points. Archbishop Carroll was hampered during the tournament by the loss of Florida-bound 6-4 Sr. Kelly Cornish who is out with a broken foot.

Conclusion
Congratulations to Coach Greg Todd and the Lexington Catholic Lady Knights for capturing the championship in this star-studded field. Also, congratulations to the tourney director, organizers, and sponsors for putting together an event of this magnitude. Coach Mike Hamburger and the host school Barron Collier also made quite an impact in this tourney. The Lady Cougars culminated an excellent week by capturing Third Place in the tourney.
