Frankfort (0-1) at Tates Creek (1-0) (Girls)
Frankfort coach Nikki Haverty-Smith started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Brittany Howard, 5-8 So. Ashleigh Boone, 5-10 Jr. Bethany Leonard, 5-6 Jr. Megan Roberts, and 5-8 Jr. Julia Taylor. Tates Creek coach Jan Ulmer countered with 6-2 Sr. Kristen Pendleton, 5-4 Sr. Ginneria Harley, 6-2 Sr. Brittany Pittman, 5-7 Sr. Derrica Morton, and 5-7 Sr. Philneshia Lindsey.
Tates Creek raced out to an 18-0 lead on their way to a 66-20 victory over Frankfort. The Lady Panthers have some promising young talent but tonight they were overmatched against a veteran, talented top ten team. Frankfort will continue to improve throughout the season and the team could have a bright future. However, for Tates Creek the future is now and the team expects to challenge for regional and state honors this season.
The victors were led tonight by Brittany Pittman with 17 points. Philneshia Lindsey, Derrica Morton, and Ginneria Harley added 12, 11, and 11 points respectively. Megan Roberts led Frankfort with six points. Brittany Howard and 6-0 8th grader Malik Stevenson added four points each.
