Bryan Station coach Jackie Williams started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Brittney Clark, 5-7 Jr. Bradli Stinson, 6-2 Jr. Crystal Leach, 5-6 Jr. Carley Blankenship, and 5-6 So. LaKrista Clark. Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 6-1 Sr. Lori Colson, 5-9 Sr. Lucy Clark, 6-0 Jr. Terrell Coles, 5-7 Sr. Catie Morris, and 5-6 Jr. Katie Kelly.
Bryan Station’s LaKrista Clark hit two free throws in overtime with 0.4 seconds left on the clock to give the Lady Defenders a 60-59 victory over Lafayette. Lafayette led 41-31 early in the fourth quarter when Bryan Station started their comeback. Lafayette’s Courtney Chenault was whistled for her fifth personal foul and was assessed a technical foul. Brittney Clark hit three of four free throws to cut the lead to seven, 41-34, and Bryan Station managed to tie the game with 4:05 remaining in regulation. The score remained close and was knotted 51-51 at the end of regulation.
Bryan Station led 58-55 in overtime but Lori Colson canned three free throws to tie the game after being fouled on a three point attempt. Lucy Clark hit two free throws to give Lafayette a 59-58 lead with 5.7 seconds remaining on the clock. However, LaKrista Clark was fouled on a drive to the basket with less than a second on the clock and hit two free throws to give Bryan Station the victory.
Bryan Station was led tonight by Brittney Clark who truly had a “monster” game with 34 points and 17 rebounds. Lucy Clark led Lafayette with 20 points and nine rebounds. Lori Colson added 15 points and 13 rebounds while Catie Morris added 14 points including four three point baskets. Lucy Clark was 12 of 14 from the free throw line and Lori Colson nailed 11 of 12 free throws.
