Bryan Station coach Champ Ligon started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Jarod Gay, 6-2 Sr. Martin Ashford, 6-2 Sr. Alex Harless, 5-11 Sr. D. J. Adams, and 5-9 Sr. Tino Washington. Henry Clay coach Kirk Chiles countered with 6-0 Sr. Bryan Turnage, 6-3 Fr. Aaron Boyd, 6-2 Jr. Aaron Miller, 6-2 Jr. Aaron Dunaway, and 5-9 Sr. Noade Day.
Henry Clay raced out to an 11-0 lead but had to withstand a late rally by Bryan Station to earn an 81-71 victory. Bryan Station closed the deficit to five, 70-65, with 1:34 remaining but could not overtake the Blue Devils. Henry Clay shot 51.7% from the field, connected on 16 of 24 free throws, and captured 44 rebounds. Bryan Station shot 40% from the field including eight of 27 from beyond the arc and was 15 of 27 from the free throw line. The Defenders pulled down 32 rebounds. Bryan Station scored 30 points off 22 Henry Clay turnovers.
Aaron Miller and Noade Day led Henry Clay with 19 points each. Miller pulled down nine rebounds and Day was four of eight from the three point line. Aaron Dunaway added 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Aaron Boyd chipped in with 10 points. Bryan Turnage only took three shots from the field but he scored four points, seven rebounds, eight assists, and brought the crowd to their feet with a high flying dunk on the final play of the game.
Alex Harless, Jarod Gay, and 6-2 Jr. Brandon Watts led Bryan Station with 13 points each. Martin Ashford added eight points and pulled down nine rebounds. Tino Washington chipped in with nine points and dished out seven assists.
