Conclusion
Congratulations to Somerset Future, Whitley County, East Kentucky Lightning, and Grayson County for winning their respective divisions. I was able to witness only the final day of competition but was impressed with the young players and teams competing in this State Preview AAU event. It was fun watching these young competitors enjoy a sport that is so revered in the state of Kentucky. I hurriedly copied down some scores and stats and I apologize for any inaccuracies or misspellings of names in this report. The statistics are not meant to be official but merely indications of the games. Hopefully these young athletes will continue to enjoy the sport for many years to come and we will have the opportunity to watch them perform.
Acknowledgments
A special thanks to the Kentucky Basketball Academy for the hospitality extended me during my visit. Also a special thanks and gratitude to the unsung heroes—the coaches and parents who spend both time and money to allow these young athletes the opportunity to pursue their dreams.
