Conclusion
This report is for entertainment purposes only and statistics used here should not be considered official. I hurriedly gathered the statistics from the scoresheets after each game and apologize for any errors or misspellings of names.
Congratulations to Coach Shannon Sheehan and Louisville Smoke-Green for capturing the championship over a very talented field. Jacob Jenkins put up big numbers for Smoke throughout pool play and the tourney round. Jenkins led his team to a 61-53 quarterfinal victory over the Louisville Yellowjackets, a game where he scored 25 points including 16 in the final period.
Nicholas Hudson of the Central Kentucky Warriors set a new 13 and Under scoring record with 173 points. Hudson had tourney round games of 36, 38, 20, and 25 points respectively. Ethan Scott of the Western Kentucky Wizards set a single game age group three point field goal record with eight. Southern Kentucky Slicers’ Bryan Ellis nailed 22 three point baskets for the tourney, missing the record by one field goal.
This was an excellent tournament with excellent teams and some outstanding individuals. These athletes are young and still developing their skills, and the future seems extremely bright.
