Atherton (2-21) vs. Seneca (9-11) (Girls) Semifinal
Atherton coach Bill Yates started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Latasha Schmidt, 5-8 Sr. Elizabeth Thompson, 6-0 Jr. Jenny Meyer, 5-5 Jr. Kara Clark, and 5-4 Sr. Lee Schuhmann. Seneca coach Lou Sartori countered with 5-7 Sr. Katie Deely, 5-10 Sr. Tanya Imam, 6-1 Sr. Alix Messersmith, 5-7 Jr. Samatha Rohmann, and 5-7 Jr. Latasha Harrison.
Seneca took a 23-10 halftime lead and scored 26 points off 27 Atherton turnovers in a 47-32 victory. Neither team shot particularly well tonight as Seneca shot 29% from the field and was 10 of 17 from the free throw line. Atherton shot 23.1% from the field and was seven of 15 from the free throw line. Seneca was one of eight from the three point line while Atherton was only one of 16 from beyond the arc. Atherton held a 48-44 advantage in rebounds.
Seneca was led tonight by 5-7 So. Dee Dee Hereford, Samatha Rohmann, and Alix Messersmith with 10 points each. Rohmann and Messersmith added eight rebounds each while Hereford recorded seven steals. Elizabeth Thompson led Atherton with 12 points and 10 rebounds. 5-3 So. Jamie Broome and Jenny Meyer added seven points each. Kara Clark did not crack the scoring column but she pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.

Assumption (18-8) vs. Sacred Heart Academy (28-1) Semifinal
Assumption coaches Bob and Martha Todd started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Jessica Gilbert, 5-10 So. Kelly Mitchell, 6-1 So. Amber Norton, 5-7 Fr. Eileen Kennedy, and 5-8 Sr. Trish Todd. Sacred Heart coach Donna Moir countered with 5-10 Jr. Taylor Kopple, 5-8 Jr. Jackie Distler, 6-3 Sr. Crystal Kelly, 5-4 Jr. Jordan Hess, and 5-7 Jr. Carly Ormerod.
Sacred Heart shot 61.2% from the field in a decisive 72-50 victory over a good Assumption squad. The victors were nine of 14 from the free throw line and claimed 38 rebounds. Assumption shot 32.1% from the field, was 10 of 14 from the free throw line and pulled down 24 rebounds.
Taylor Kopple led Sacred Heart with 25 points including 11 of 13 from the field. Crystal Kelly also put up big numbers tonight with 23 points and 16 rebounds. Amber Norton led Assumption with 15 points. Jessica Gilbert added 13 points and Trish Todd chipped in with 11 points and four steals.

Seneca (10-11) vs. Sacred Heart Academy (29-1) Championship
Seneca coach Lou Sartori started the following lineup: 5-7 Sr. Katie Deely, 5-10 Sr. Tanya Imam, 5-8 Jr. Katie Gausepohl, 5-7 Jr. Samatha Rohmann, and 5-7 Jr. Latasha Harrison. Sacred Heart coach Donna Moir countered with 5-10 Jr. Taylor Kopple, 5-8 Jr. Jackie Distler, 6-3 Sr. Crystal Kelly, 5-4 Jr. Jordan Hess, and 5-7 Jr. Carly Ormerod.
Sacred Heart raced out to a 26-6 first quarter lead and cruised to a 77-27 victory. Sacred Heart scored 30 points on 25 Seneca turnovers, and 12 Valkyries got into the scoring column. Sacred Heart shot 47.6% from the field, connected on 14 of 30 free throws, and pulled down 58 rebounds. Seneca only shot 18.4% from the field, was six of 14 from the free throw line and pulled down 29 rebounds.
Crystal Kelly led the victors with 20 points and six rebounds in 15:49 of playing time. Taylor Kopple added 10 points and pulled down nine rebounds. Elizabeth Campbell, a 6-0 Fr., added five points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Tanya Imam led Seneca with eight points and six rebounds. 5-7 So. Dee Dee Hereford added six points.
