Jackson County (18-5) vs. Lexington Catholic (16-7)
Jackson County coach Greg Parrett started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Kenni Lakes, 5-9 Jr. Danielle Roaden, 6-6 Sr. Sarah Elliott, 5-5 7th grader Kourtney Tyra, and 5-3 Sr. Whitney Moore. Lexington Catholic coach Greg Todd countered with 6-0 So. Anaris Sickles, 5-8 Jr. Lesley Server, 6-1 Jr. Shannon Novosel, 5-7 Fr. Keyla Snowden, and 5-8 So. Nikki Davis.
Jackson County trailed 44-35 at the end of three quarters, but rallied to pull within one, 48-47, before Lexington Catholic rallied to gain a 58-51 victory. Lexington Catholic scored 20 points off 26 Jackson County turnovers. The victors shot 37% from the field, connected on 15 of 26 free throws, and pulled down 31 rebounds. Jackson County shot 46.2% from the field, was seven of 11 from the free throw line, and grabbed 33 rebounds.
Lexington Catholic was led by Shannon Novosel with 16 points, eight rebounds, and four steals. Keyla Snowden added 14 points and Nikki Davis chipped in with nine points, seven rebounds, nine assists, and six steals. Sarah Elliott led Jackson County with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocked shots. 5-7 Jr. Brittany Bingham and Whitney Moore added 14 and 12 points respectively. Bingham and Moore each nailed four three point goals.
