Game 2 Wellston (OH) (5-9) vs. Lexington Catholic (15-3) (Boys)
Wellston started the following lineup: Brant Derrow, Ryan Miller, J. B. King, David Herman, and Jordan Lackey. Lexington Catholic coach Bart Flener countered with 6-3 Sr. Demetrius Green, 6-4 Sr. Harrison Morton, 6-4 Sr. Mark Balthrop, 6-5 Jr. Rob Riddell, and 6-3 Sr. William Graham.
Lexington Catholic raced out to a 27-4 first quarter lead and scored 20 points off 22 Wellston turnovers on their way to an 84-29 victory. Lexington Catholic shot 49.3% from the field, connected on nine of 14 free throws, and pulled down 44 rebounds. Wellston was only 23.4% from the field, visited the free throw line five times, connecting on one shot, and grabbed 31 rebounds.
Demetrius Green, Harrison Morton, and William Graham led Lexington Catholic with 20, 17, and 16 points respectively. The five Lexington Catholic starters only averaged 14 minutes of playing time each tonight. Wellston was led tonight by David Herman with 12 points and seven rebounds.

Trotwood (OH) coach Johnny Vance started the following lineup: 5-7 So. Madison Davis, 5-8 Jr. Tasha Patterson, 5-10 Jr. Ashley Rankin, 5-6 Jr. Antoinette Mize, and 5-8 Jr. Janae Garrett. Wayne County coach Tim Pyles countered with 5-11 Jr. Ashley Bell, 5-9 So. Latoyia Green, 6-0 Sr. Sarah Wixson, 5-8 Sr. Natalie Brown, and 5-7 Sr. Kenita Ball.
Wayne County led 44-39 at the end of three quarters and outscored Trotwood 16-2 in the final quarter to claim a 60-41 victory. Wayne County shot 33.3% from the field, connected on 27 of 32 free throws, and pulled down 34 rebounds. Trotwood shot 31% from the field, was 14 of 23 from the free throw line, and grabbed 31 rebounds.
The victors were led by Ashley Bell with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Bell was11 of 13 from the free throw line. Kenita Ball added 19 points including three of five from the three point line, and eight of eight from the free throw line. Trotwood was led by Ashley Rankin with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Janae Garrett added 11 points.

Boyd County led 49-46 after three quarters but they went cold from the field in the final quarter and Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary rallied for a 64-56 victory. Akron shot 54.5% from the field, was 13 of 21 from the free throw line, and pulled down 35 rebounds. Boyd County shot 33.8% from the field, visited the free throw line five times, connecting on four shots, and grabbed 37 rebounds.
The victors were led by Kellyn Murphy with 23 points, nine rebounds, and five steals. Ashley Ciarrochi and Kara Murphy added 12 and 11 points respectively. Kara Murphy added seven rebounds and dished out six assists. Jennipher Swann led Boyd County with 14 points and 5-7 Jr. Kasi Galloway added 10 points.

St. Joseph’s led 57-47 at the end of three quarters but Muhlenberg North rallied for a 64-62 victory. Jade Perry led the comeback with 10 fourth quarter points and Veronika Peercy scored the winning points on a put-back shot with two seconds remaining on the clock. Muhlenberg North shot 57.1% from the field, connected on five of eight free throws, and pulled down 31 rebounds. St. Joseph’s shot 44.6% from the field including six of 14 from the three point line, was six of seven from the free throw line, and grabbed 25 rebounds.
The victors were led today by Jade Perry with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Heather Mitchell, Candace Garrett, and Veronika Peercy added 12, 10, and nine points respectively. Garrett and Peercy added eight and seven rebounds respectively. Katie St. Clair led St. Joseph’s with 15 points and six rebounds while Aimee Litka added 15 points and dished out six assists. Sydney Smallbone and Melissa Lechlitner chipped in with 14 and 12 points respectively.

South Charleston scored 26 points off 24 Jackson County turnovers and held a 24-9 advantage in free throw points on their way to a 61-49 victory. South Charleston shot 31.6% from the field, connected on 24 of 30 free throws, and pulled down 34 rebounds. Jackson County shot 43.9% from the field, was nine of 16 from the free throw line, and pulled down 35 rebounds.
The victors were led by Alexis Hornbuckle with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and nine steals. Renee Montgomery added 19 points including 13 of 14 free throws. Montgomery also added eight rebounds, dished out five assists, and recorded five steals. Sarah Elliott led Jackson County with 25 points, 14 rebounds, and nine blocked shots. Whitney Moore added 20 points including four three point baskets.

Jackson County shot 47.5% from the field, connected on 25 of 35 free throws, and pulled down 29 rebounds.
The victors had six players in double figures, led by Josh Daniel with 21 points. 6-1 Sr. David Pope and Klint Frazier added 17 points each. Ronnie Means added 12 points and dished out 14 assists. 6-2 Sr. Jose Hall and Jeraude Lowe added 11 and 10 points respectively. Stephen Gabbard led Jackson County with 23 points, including 13 of 13 free throws. Pat Elliott added nine points and pulled down seven rebounds.

Madison Central shot 42.2% from the field, was seven of 11 from the free throw line, and pulled down 29 rebounds.
Justin Orr led LaSalle with 19 points and 6-4 Sr. Zach Welter added 14 points. Matt Cornett led Madison Central with 16 points and nine rebounds. Andrew Mathis and Chris Stunson added nine and eight points respectively.

Lexington Catholic scored 26 points off 26 Cleveland turnovers and outshot their opponents 51.4%-45.8% from the field on their way to a 69-43 victory. Lexington Catholic also held a 22-11 advantage in bench scoring.
Lexington Catholic was led today by William Graham with 25 points, four rebounds, three assists, and five steals. Graham was 12 of 17 from the field. Harrison Morton added 13 points. Alex Goldston led Cleveland with 10 points and seven rebounds. Colby Dodd and 6-3 Jr. David Cartwright chipped in with eight and seven points respectively.

Lexington Catholic coach Greg Todd countered with 6-0 So. Anaris Sickles, 5-8 Jr. Lesley Server, 6-1 Jr. Shannon Novosel, 5-7 Fr. Keyla Snowden, and 5-8 So. Nikki Davis.
Lexington Catholic led 60-59 at the end of three quarters and pulled away in the final quarter to gain a 90-77 victory over a determined Cleveland squad. Lexington Catholic scored 28 points off 19 Cleveland turnovers while Cleveland scored 17 points off 20 Lexington Catholic miscues. Lexington Catholic shot 49.1% from the field, was 30 of 36 from the free throw line, and pulled down 37 rebounds. Cleveland shot 40.3% from the field, was 22 of 29 from the free throw line, and grabbed 36 rebounds. There were a total of 49 fouls called in the game (26 on Cleveland and 23 against Lexington Catholic).
Anaris Sickles led Lexington Catholic tonight with 34 points and 15 rebounds. Sickles was 10 of 17 from the field and 14 of 16 from the free throw line. Keyla Snowden added 13 points and Nikki Davis chipped in with 12 points, six assists, and five steals. 5-8 Jr. Rebecca Rhule came off the bench to tally 11 points. Holly Rogers led Cleveland with 21 points including 10 of 10 free throws, and pulled down 10 rebounds. Fr. Kerri Simpson and Lauren Brett added 17 points each. Allison Rader chipped in with 11 points and dished out seven assists.
