Frankfort coach Deron Norman started the following lineup: 6-1 Sr. Myron Moore, 6-2 Jr. Joe Hyatt, 6-4 Jr. Tory Robertson, 5-10 Jr. Josh Oliver, and 6-3 So. Aaron Dunaway. Lafayette coach Damon Kelley countered with 6-4 Jr. Blake Miller, 6-1 Sr. Marcus Barron, 6-8 Sr. Darnell Dialls, 6-0 Jr. T. J. Chinn, and 5-11 Sr. Kevin Trahan.
Lafayette’s Kevin Trahan hit two free throws with four seconds remaining on the clock to give his team a 63-59 lead. Tory Robertson hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to make the final score Lafayette 63, Frankfort 62. The score was close throughout the game, but Frankfort got in foul trouble and lost three players, Hyatt, Moore, and Will Current due to fouls and Robertson and Dunaway finished the game with four fouls each. Lafayette shot 51.3% from the field and was 21 of 35 from the free throw line, while Frankfort shot 42.4% from the field and only visited the free throw line nine times, connecting on five shots. Frankfort managed to rebound with the taller Lafayette squad as each claimed 28 rebounds. However, Frankfort was called for 30 fouls while Lafayette was only whistled for 10 fouls.
Lafayette was led tonight by Marcus Barron, Darnell Dialls, 6-6 Sr. Nic Mullins with 16, 13, and 13 points respectively. Dialls also pulled down eight rebounds. Frankfort was led by Tory Robertson with 22 points and six rebounds. Aaron Dunaway added 17 points and eight rebounds while Josh Oliver chipped in with 10 points.
